Who We Are Stormentum is accelerating energy independence by helping solar installers provide storage-first systems that homeowners can actually afford. Our modular, battery-agnostic inverter platform cuts hardware costs by 50% and reduces total system costs by up to 30%, giving installers full control over design, supply chain, and margins. Our founding team has spent decades at the frontier of residential solar and storage, designing the hardware, building the software, and scaling the teams that brought clean energy into millions of homes. We are building Stormentum to solve the hardest problem in the space: making storage-first systems affordable enough for every homeowner, not just early adopters. About the Role At Stormentum you will be the first dedicated product hire and a key team member who bridges the world of engineering innovation and the market — translating what we build into a story that excites and compels installers, partners, and customers to commit. You will work directly with executive leadership to convert Stormentum's technology and vision into a product roadmap that wins in the market, and ensure that roadmap is supported by positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution that resonates with installers, aggregators, and battery suppliers. You will own the full product roadmap, from hardware and installation requirements and installer and customer user stories, to launch strategy and channel enablement. Who You Are • An engineer at heart. You started in the technical world, earned your credibility there, and developed the commercial instincts to translate what moves partners and customers into product requirements and supporting technical architecture that enables innovation., • A builder. You have defined product functions from scratch, and you are energized by the absence of a playbook. You do not wait for structure; you create it., • Installer-obsessed. You understand that in this market, the installer is the customer, and you build everything with that in mind. You know the channel, the pain points, and what it takes to earn loyalty in a competitive market., • The glue. You have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and commercial teams, and you earn trust through competence and candor. You are equally comfortable in a design review and sales conversation., • Commercially fluent. You understand how engineering decisions translate into cost models and customer value, and you use that fluency to align stakeholders and make the financial case across the full channel., • Urgent and focused. You know how to prioritize ruthlessly, operate with a bias for action, and still deliver quality. What You'll Do • Own Stormentum's product strategy and roadmap, translating customer, installer, and market needs into actionable engineering direction — building the partner and installer relationships that inform it in close partnership with the engineering team, • Define and own hardware product requirements tied directly to customer success outcomes, ensuring certification milestones and market deadlines are met, • Drive Stormentum's positioning, messaging, and value proposition across installer, homeowner, and partner audiences, making a technically differentiated product impossible to ignore, • Lead product launch strategy and go-to-market execution, coordinating cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and commercial teams, • Create installer-facing sales enablement materials, including product collateral, competitive tools, training content, and technical sell sheets, • Gather and leverage competitive intelligence — translating findings into actionable recommendations for product and engineering, • Shape Stormentum's content and communications strategy, including web presence, case studies, and industry thought leadership, • Define and track the metrics that matter, from product adoption and installer activation to top-of-funnel awareness and competitive win rates, • Help shape how the product function grows with the company as Stormentum scales What We're Looking For • 8+ years of product management experience in hardware or energy technology, with deep expertise in the residential solar and storage industry required, • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Systems Engineering; MBA or technical masters is a plus, • Proven track record of owning a product roadmap and taking hardware products to market through channel or distribution models, • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences, • Experience building product strategy, GTM plans, and sales enablement content from scratch, • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering, sales, and commercial teams, • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment. Startup or early-stage experience a plus What Will Make You Stand Out • Existing relationships within the residential solar ecosystem — installers, aggregators, battery suppliers, or distribution partners, • Track record of building installer or contractor channel programs from the ground up, • Power electronics and hardware design background, bringing technical depth alongside commercial instincts Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000 annually. The successful candidate's base pay will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and organizational needs. This position is also eligible for equity awards and benefits. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life, flexible time off, and paid holidays.
