Job Description Company: Sentry Living Solutions Location: East Bay Area (Contra Costa County and Alameda County) Position Summary As the Program Support Assistant at Sentry Living Solutions,you will provide essential administrative support to promote the structure, comfort, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services. This role combines direct client assistance with operational support to ensure both client needs and departmental functions are effectively managed. Key responsibilities include assisting with possible personal care, health monitoring, mobility, and meal preparation. Additionally, the Program Support Assistant oversees administrative functions, including scheduling, documentation, payroll preparation, and communication with staff and healthcare providers. This role also contributes to staff recruitment and training, supervises team members, supports service plan implementation, and assists the Program Director with departmental operations, assessments, special incident reports, structural planning, and various tasks that align with the ILS and SES program design. Key Responsibilities Direct Client Support • Possibly will assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting). (Unlikely, but must be open to personal care), • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences., • Assist with mobility and transportation, including helping clients in/out of vehicles, wheelchairs, or public transportation (e.g., BART, buses, Paratransit)., • Provide emotional support and companionship., • Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting clients as needed in light housekeeping (laundry, cleaning, etc.)., • Monitor client environments for safety and security., • Respond to emergencies promptly, including administering basic first aid and contacting emergency services as needed., • Maintain accurate documentation, including care notes, health observations, and progress records., • Schedule client appointments and staff shifts., • Support payroll preparation by verifying daily notes and attendance logs., • Support recruitment by contacting applicants, scheduling interviews, and assisting with onboarding., • Train and mentor staff, including direct support coaches and potential team leads., • Advocate for client needs, ensuring access to appropriate and timely services., • Collaborate with ILS and SES clients to assess needs and match them with resources and supports., • Assist the Program Director with department-level needs, including but not limited to:, • Client assessments, • Special incident reports, • Trainings for staff and leads, • High school diploma or equivalent (required)., • At least one (1) year of experience in human services, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities; or equivalent education in a related field., • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle registration, and auto insurance. (Must be able to transport clients and do home visits), • Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities., • Capable of handling emergencies and maintaining professionalism under pressure., • Excellent communication and organizational skills., • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team., • Problem-Solving: Identifies issues, develops solutions, and collaborates effectively., • Interpersonal Skills: Maintains confidentiality, listens actively, and resolves conflicts respectfully., • Ethics: Demonstrates integrity, reliability, and respect for others., • Adaptability: Manages competing priorities and adjusts to changes., • Safety & Security: Follows protocols and proactively addresses unsafe conditions., • May be required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods., • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions during transportation duties., • Required to use visual acuity for reading, documentation, and screen time., • Work occurs in varied environments, including client homes, the office, and community settings. Hours may vary and may be scheduled from 9:00am–5:30pm or 11:00am–7:30pm, Monday through Friday., • Must comply with all health and safety regulations, particularly those mandated by California law. This role requires a strict non-disclosure of confidential information, including but not limited to communications between the Program Support Assistant and the Director.
