Job DescriptionSalary: $22.00 Summary: Working as part of a team, CSAs will monitor and direct the clients to all areas of the program site. CSAs are responsible for keeping safety watch, completing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks, working on any assigned projects, and performing conflict resolution should issues arise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Monitor and facilitate the transition of guests/clients from the intake areas to shelter/cabins; provide tour of dining, counseling, meeting and/or classroom areas., • Ensure all clients and visitors are checking in and out of the facility, • Keep a safety watch day and night (per assigned shift) and lead conflict resolution should issues requiring intervention arise., • Assist guests/clients when needed., • Escalate any observed or suspected abuse and/or neglect of children, disabled individuals, dependent adults, and elder/senior citizens to Managements attention., • Help clients access stored possessions (if any) and process their exit from the facility as required., • Distribute and serve meals to the clients., • Receive, process, distribute, and store donation items received from the public to support the clients in the program., • Disinfect and clean assigned shelter beds/cabins while facilitating the movement of client belongings from one location to another., • Perform facility cleaning and maintenance, including facility cleanup., • Write clear and legible daily activity logs and incident reports., • Regular, predictable attendance is required., • Ability to get along and work effectively with others., • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions., • Perform other tasks as necessary as assigned or requested by the Site Supervisor and/or Program Director. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no staff supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience: Equivalent of graduation from high school is required. Six month with working with proven experience, preferably in social services or shelter environment is preferred. Language Skills: Independent and effective fluency in the English language. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiple and divide with 10s and 100s. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of a computer or tablet and accompanying applications and software. Knowledge of basic office equipment should include: Internet and email, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current CA drivers license and proof of auto insurance are required. CPR, First Aid, and NARCAN certification preferred. Working Conditions: Ability to work indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions. This position requires you to work weekends and holidays. Other Position Requirements: • A background check is required., • If a past client of FSC or similar support organization, must have last needed support/housing services at least 12 months ago and cannot work in the same facility they received services., • May be asked to travel locally to various sites with 25 miles for each shift., • May be asked to work various day, evening, and overnight shifts. Other Skills and Abilities: • Understanding of the homeless population and their unique needs., • Strong verbal communication and listening skills., • Ability to exercise extreme patience., • Must be comfortable working with people and flexible in unpredictable environments., • Ability to think quickly and respond calmly to stressful/emergency situations., • Ability to conduct effective bag checks from clients., • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Physical and Emotional Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
