Job Description Job Title: Production Material Handler Job Description Aerotek is hiring immediately! The Production Material Handler plays a key role in a manufacturing plant that processes raw ores into fine materials used in products such as sandpaper. In this role, you operate grinding machines, handle materials using sit-down propane forklifts, and work closely with a small team to keep production running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities • Operate grinding machines and related production equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines., • Work collaboratively with a team of approximately 10 people to run plant machinery and meet production goals., • Fill, transport, and palletize materials that are packaged into drums or large bags, using forklifts or manual handling depending on the size and weight., • Monitor machines for issues, malfunctions, or contamination and promptly report or address any problems., • Use basic hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and mallets for routine adjustments and minor maintenance tasks., • Perform material handling duties using sit-down propane forklifts, including loading, unloading, and staging materials., • Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and quality requirements throughout the production process., • Lift materials up to 50 pounds as needed and remain on your feet, walking and standing throughout 10-hour shifts., • Minimum 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment., • Proficiency in basic computer skills for simple data entry, machine interfaces, or production tracking., • Strong basic math skills to support measurements, counts, and production calculations., • Hands-on experience using basic tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and mallets., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed and comfortably walk and stand for 10-hour shifts., • Experience operating or willingness to learn to operate sit-down propane forklifts., • Previous forklift experience is preferred and will be considered a strong asset., • Comfort working with industrial grinding machines and other production equipment., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work well as part of a close-knit production team. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing plant that processes raw ores into fine materials. The environment is not temperature controlled, so it can become hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The nature of the materials can create a dusty atmosphere, and you should be comfortable working in these conditions while using appropriate protective equipment as provided. You will work around grinding machines, sit-down propane forklifts, and various hand tools throughout your shift. The standard schedule is second shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with occasional required work on Fridays depending on production needs. The role is physically active, with frequent walking, standing, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of North Grafton, MA.
