Job DescriptionDescriptionHMB Professional Engineers is seeking a CEI Inspector with experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI), particularly on Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) projects. Key Responsibilities • The Inspector will be assigned to work in Nashville or Chattanooga, TN., • Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests, • Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors., • Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator., • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals., • Sets own project deadlines., • Provides on the job training to new employees., • Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties., • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records., • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning., • Tracks quality assurance progress., • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise • High School diploma or equivalent, • 8+ years of related CEI experience including work on TDOT projects., • Maintain the physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments, including extreme heat and cold., • Candidates must be trustworthy and responsible., • Daily travel and or overnight stays may be required depending on project needs., • Valid TN Driver's license, have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), • Successful completion of drug screening and background check Preferred Qualifications:, • TDOT Aggregate Certified Testing Technician, • TDOT Concrete Certified Field Technician, • TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Plant Technician, • TDT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Roadway Technician, • Nuclear Radiation Safety, • Tennessee Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and ContractorsAdditional Information:, • Relocation assistance is not available for this position., • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
