Head of Human Resources About the Role The Head of Human Resources reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works primarily with members of the executive management team as well as managers from all functional areas. This role partners with senior leadership to build, develop, and execute Blum’s strategic goals while serving as a visible cultural leader across the organization. The position plays a critical role in aligning people strategy with Blum USA’s business objectives and supporting a collaborative, social, and engaging work environment. What You’ll Do Strategic & Executive Partnership • Partner with the CFO and executive management team to build, develop, and execute Blum’s strategic goals, • Maintain alignment of the HR department with Blum USA’s strategic objectives, • Translate business strategy into workforce plans and capability development, • Plan and direct all aspects of the HR department’s work activities and the implementation of HR-sponsored programs and initiatives, • Maintain overall responsibility for recruiting, selection, hiring, onboarding, safety, employee relations, performance management, and employee services, • Manage the identification of future talent needs and develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans, • Design, propose, and manage competitive, financially sustainable compensation and benefit programs, • Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop a competitive compensation plan, • Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and reporting requirements, • Support employee development, organizational development, succession planning, training, and leadership development, • Initiate, research, develop, and deliver employee development processes, • Provide coaching and mentoring services to members of the management team regarding human performance improvement concepts and practices, • Formulate policies and procedures for recruitment, testing, placement, orientation, company forms, documents, handbooks, and management manuals, • Prepare the Human Resources department budget, • Prepare documentation for visas, extensions, and green card processes Who You’ll Work With • Reports to the Chief Financial Officer, • Works closely with executive leadership and managers across all functional areas, • May work occasionally with attorneys, government officials, and representatives from local businesses What You Bring Education • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or Education (required), • Advanced degree or HRCI-SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification (a plus), • Minimum of 12 years of experience across various HR roles, • At least 5 years in a senior leadership position, • Experience in a mid-sized industrial manufacturing environment with a 500+ employee workforce, • Human resource policies and practices including recruitment, selection, promotion, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and HRIS, • Business and organizational planning, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coaching methods, • Adult learning, training, organizational development, and performance management, • Federal and state laws governing Human Resource management Foundation Skills • Motivating, developing, and directing people, • Planning, organizing, and monitoring work done by others, • Guiding others to identify and take required action in support of change initiatives, • Managing meetings and group processes to enhance decision-making, • Establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships at all levels, • Presenting ideas in an easy-to-understand and engaging manner, • Effective verbal and written communication skills, • Strong database management and record-keeping abilities, • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and HR-related platforms, • Bringing conflicting parties together to form agreeable solutions, • Encouraging trust, respect, and cooperation among team members Key Competencies • Strategic thinking with strong financial acumen, • Executive presence and credibility with senior leaders, • Ability to balance people needs with cost, productivity, and compliance, • Pragmatic, hands-on leadership style suited to manufacturing environments, • Strong change management and communication skills, • Global mindset with cultural sensitivity Additional Details • Works an office schedule with flexibility to work whenever required, • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed, • Conducts all aspects of the role with integrity, leadership, and respect Benefits Blum USA offers a competitive benefits package, including: • Salaried position, • Possible bonus opportunities, • Health coverage (Medical, Vision, Dental), • 401(k) with company match, • Flexible spending account for eligible health expenses, • Competitive PTO package, • Term life insurance equal to annual salary at no cost to employee, • And more!
