Job DescriptionPersonal Injury Trial Attorney Personal Injury Trial Attorney Position Overview We are a mission-driven NC based personal injury firm where litigation experience is valued, client service is paramount, and attorneys are empowered to make a meaningful impact through their work. We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to join us in our Charlotte office. In this role you will manage all phases of litigation from intake and investigation through discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial while advocating for our clients and maximizing recovery. If you have 3+ years of litigation experience, excellent legal writing and advocacy skills, and a background handling automobile accidents, negligence, liability, mass tort and class action matters, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities • Develop and manage a docket of personal injury cases and oversee all phases of litigation from intake through trial and appeal., • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other court documents in state and federal courts., • Work with investigators, medical providers, and expert witnesses to develop case theories and trial strategies., • Take and defend depositions of lay witnesses, treating physicians, party representatives, and expert witnesses., • Assist with jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross-examinations, and closing arguments at trial., • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers., • Prepare detailed demand packages, settlement analyses, and trial exhibits; maintain organized case files and trial notebooks., • Ensure adherence to professional and ethical rules, court deadlines, and firm policies; coordinate with co-counsel and outside experts as needed., • Juris Doctor (JD), • Admitted to the NC state bar, • 3+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience - Trial experience is a PLUS!, • Demonstrated experience handling automobile accidents, liability, negligence claims, and workers' compensation matters; experience with mass tort and class action litigation strongly preferred., • Legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills, including experience drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs., • Experience managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and retaining and working with expert witnesses., • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail., • Competitive base and compensation, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Life and disability insurance(Firm paid), • 401(k) with company match, • PTO, holidays, and volunteer time off, • Education/gym reimbursement, • Relocation assistance (when needed), • Lots of growth oppertunity - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
