Job Description Job Title: Instrumentation Fitter Job Description • Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, datasheets/manuals, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches., • Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components of ground hardware, test, and integration equipment., • Fabricate and install parts and systems used in launch environments using hand tools, power tools, and test instruments., • Work with various sizes of pipes and valves., • Connect and verify pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors., • Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs., • Collaborate with launch engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from launch activities., • 3+ years of experience in tube bending, hand bending, and customizing pipes., • Proficiency in using computers or iPads., • Experience with piping and instrumentation design (P&ID) software., • Knowledge of benders such as Swagelok, Ridgid, and Parker., • Understanding of offset formulas and signal conditioning concepts., • Oil & gas or pharmaceutical backgrounds are preferred., • Experience with medium and high-pressure systems., • 3+ years of experience using power tools in a professional capacity., • 1+ years of experience with electronic system assembly and construction., • Experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns., • Associate degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or related field., • System-level troubleshooting skills and ability to logically solve instrumentation system problems., • Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote)., • Experience and working knowledge of various valves, pressure regulators, and valve actuators., • Experience with hydraulics and metal fabrication. Work in an indoor, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility with a rotating schedule: 10 days on days, 10 days on nights. Shifts include Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday, with hours from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm to 6:00 am Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baton Rouge, LA. THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a RENTAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN to join our growing operations (Louisiana Rents) at our Baton Rouge, Louisiana location. SALARY POTENTIAL 60,000 - $72,000 yearly range The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician’s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked. YOUR VALUE The person in this role will be responsible for servicing and repairing construction rental heavy equipment in the field. YOUR CONTRIBUTION • You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment including engines, power trains, hydraulics and fuel systems., • You will read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, and other specifications to determine the repair method on failed components., • You will replace or repair defective components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment., • You will assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools., • You will rebuild install and align pump assemblies utilizing safe rigging methods using hand or power tools., • You will create, track and formalize work order documents on a timely basis, • You will promote positive customer service for Louisiana Cat Rental Stores according to Caterpillar and Louisiana Cat expectations, • We will give you the tools and building blocks to MAKE A CAREER here at Louisiana Cat, • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent, • REQUIRED: Minimum of 3 years of field experience, • REQUIRED: Strong mechanical Aptitude, • REQUIRED: Basic understanding of hand tools, • REQUIRED: Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills, • REQUIRED: Ability to work in a team environment, • Must own required tool inventory.
