Must remain insurable under the Countys vehicle insurance policy. maintains records of work performed labor and materials used etc.;, • Inspects equipment at regular intervals; assists in preparing new equipment specifications and meets with equipment dealers regarding same;, • Purchases equipment as provided for in budget, • Operates pickup truck and wrecker;, • Performs most difficult maintenance and mechanical repair on County equipment (e.g. repairs electrical components replaces and rebuilds engines motors transmissions hydraulic systems etc.)., • Maintains records of equipment repairs and maintenance (e.g. oil changes lubes parts replaced tune-up dates etc.);, • Records daily use of fuel;, • Completes time sheets recording hours worked by mechanics;, • Oversees work of mechanics;, • Maintains adequate supply of parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repair., • Trains and instructs mechanics as to proper maintenance and repair procedures;, • Explains new equipment operation;, • Answers technical questions, • Welds cracked or broken metal parts and appendages on equipment and vehicles;, • Cuts shapes and fabricates brackets hinges special tools etc., • Attends meetings and serves on committees as directed;
