Job Description Job Title: Crane Technician Job Description Join a growing branch as a Crane Technician responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining overhead cranes used in manufacturing and production environments. You will work independently from day one, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems while traveling weekly to customer sites and providing professional, customer-focused service. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists to ensure safe and reliable operation., • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on crane and hoist equipment, focusing on both mechanical and electrical components., • Support customers by effectively interfacing with site personnel and office staff to coordinate and complete repairs., • Evaluate equipment condition and make clear recommendations regarding required repairs and maintenance for customers., • Maintain strong rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements., • Service overhead crane systems by performing quality installations and completing OSHA/ANSI-equivalent inspections., • Document all service and installation activities by accurately completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists., • Perform warranty work, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and respond promptly to repair calls., • Build and maintain customer confidence by maintaining good response times, clearly communicating issues, and completing jobs in a timely manner., • Present a professional image at all times by maintaining high standards of timeliness, appearance, and organization., • Fabricate and weld structures as needed to support crane installation, repair, and modification., • Climb to crane structures and work at height safely and comfortably as part of inspections, maintenance, and repairs., • Travel weekly to customer sites, typically leaving on Monday and returning on Thursday, to service and repair cranes in various manufacturing and warehouse environments. Essential Skills • Approximately 5 or more years of experience as a crane technician or in a closely related mechanical and electrical maintenance role., • Strong hands-on experience with crane inspection and overhead crane systems., • Solid electrical skills, including experience with 3-phase power and electrical maintenance., • Strong mechanical aptitude, including mechanical troubleshooting and repair., • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in industrial equipment., • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics., • Proven troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical and electrical issues., • Effective people skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers on-site., • Ability and willingness to climb to crane structures and work at height safely., • Capability to work independently from day one, managing time, tasks, and customer interactions with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with welding and fabrication of structures related to crane installation and repair., • Experience in servicing cranes in manufacturing and production-based environments., • Familiarity with OSHA and ANSI-equivalent inspection standards for overhead cranes and hoists., • Experience documenting service activities through forms, reports, and inspection checklists., • Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments., • Ability to manage weekly travel, including overnight stays, across multiple states., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in completing maintenance and inspection tasks. Work Environment This role involves traveling within North Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and New Mexico to service and repair cranes at various manufacturing warehouses and industrial sites. Work takes place primarily in manufacturing facilities, with approximately 50% of the time spent indoors and 50% outdoors. About 25% of the work involves overnight travel. The position operates on first shift, with start times typically between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., and workdays lasting around 10–12 hours depending on the job. You will work within a small team environment, with up to 10 crane technicians employed, using industrial tools and equipment, company-provided truck and cell phone, and appropriate safety gear such as steel-toe footwear. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Haltom City, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
