Job Description Position Overview RUIZ is seeking a Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) Subject Matter Expert with advanced SAP S/4HANA capability to serve as a strategic advisor to one of our largest utility clients. This is a full‑time consulting role requiring a recognized authority in asset lifecycle management, capital project execution, integrated work management, and SAP intelligent asset related modules. The SME will guide the client through an EAM/EPPM transformation spanning asset data governance, maintenance strategy optimization, project controls, forecasting, scheduling, and end‑to‑end SAP build and deployment. This position demands a consultant capable of immediately delivering value, resolving complex challenges, and leading design decisions across the EAM and EPPM footprint. Primary Focus Areas Advanced SAP EAM & EPPM Expertise (Primary Focus) • Serve as the EAM/EPPM Functional SME with mastery of SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM), Project Systems (PS), and Enterprise Portfolio & Project Management (EPPM), • Lead design and configuration of end‑to‑end asset lifecycle processes, including inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective work, long‑term planning, budgeting, and project execution, • Architect integrated work management workflows including notifications, work orders, task lists, maintenance plans, resource planning, and settlement, • Develop capital project governance frameworks including portfolio prioritization, investment planning, project structuring, earned value, cost controls, and forecasting, • Provide expert guidance on integrations with GIS, PowerPlan, SCADA/OT systems, Mobility (SAP FSM/EAM Mobile), and 3rd‑party scheduling tools, • Troubleshoot complex SAP PM/PS/EPPM issues and provide Level 3 functional leadership, • Deliver advanced analytics through SAP Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud, KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting, • Conduct maturity assessments of asset management practices, maintenance execution, reliability engineering, project delivery, and data governance, • Develop EAM Transformation Roadmaps aligned to ISO 55000, PAS 55, and utility best practices, • Create multi‑year capital planning and portfolio prioritization frameworks, • Establish governance for asset performance management, work planning, and capital program controls, • Optimize lifecycle strategies for critical assets (gas, electric, facilities, fleet, and linear assets), • Define KPIs, performance scorecards, and asset health/risk models, • Conduct asset data integrity reviews, taxonomy development (ISO 14224), and data cleansing strategies, • Lead current‑state assessments for EAM/EPPM, asset data, and SAP PM/PS processes, • Develop detailed process maps, system designs, and gap closure strategies, • Build business cases demonstrating ROI for reliability improvements and project execution transformation, • Facilitate executive workshops on asset strategy, capital optimization, and operational excellence, • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and change impact analyses, • Serve as trusted advisor to client leadership on supply chain strategy Education & Certifications • IAM Certificate or Diploma – Institute of Asset Management, • P.E. (Professional Engineer) — preferred for engineering‑based roles, • PMP – Project Management Professional, • PSPO / PPM Certification – PMI or equivalent portfolio management credential, • 10–15+ years of Enterprise Asset Management and/or Capital Program Management experience, • 7+ years of hands‑on SAP PM/PS/EPPM configuration and solution architecture, • 5+ years serving as an SME or consulting advisor on large transformation initiatives, • Proven leadership in utility or energy sector asset management, • Deep experience designing or optimizing work management, asset lifecycle processes, and capital execution, • Background supporting large‑scale SAP S/4HANA implementations, including data migration and integration, • Experience serving as SAP functional lead or solution architect for procurement initiatives, • Demonstrated success delivering consulting engagements with measurable client impact, • Experience in Utility, Energy, or Oil & Gas sectors strongly preferred, • Background working with Fortune 500 or large enterprise clients preferred Technical Expertise (Must-Have) SAP Mastery: • Expert‑level knowledge of SAP PM, EAM, PS, EPPM, and their integration points (MM, FI/CO, SD, SM, GIS), • Ability to architect maintenance strategies, work order processes, long‑term plans, and settlement logic, • Deep knowledge of SAP master data objects: Functional Locations, Equipment, BOMs, Task Lists, WBS, Networks, • Experience with enhancement frameworks (BADIs, BAPIs, user exits), • Expert in capital planning, budget controls, WBS structuring, forecasting, and earned value management, • Strong understanding of utility construction processes and compatible units (CUs), • Advanced Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, advanced analytics), • Subject Matter Expert Status: Recognized industry expert with thought leadership in EAM/EPPM and/or SAP, • Consulting Excellence: Proven ability to lead client engagements, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver complex projects, • Communication Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to C-level executives, • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business challenges into actionable supply chain and technology solutions, • Change Leadership: Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives, • Independence: Self-directed professional capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight, • Client Focus: Strong relationship-building skills with commitment to client success, • Published articles, white papers, or speaking engagements on EAM/EPPM or SAP topics, • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud or SAP Fiori, • Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean certification, • Role Type: Full-time consultant engagement, • Work Location: Remote with travel expected 30-40%, • Client Industry: Utility/Energy sector, • Travel: Up to 30-50% travel will be required for client meetings and workshops, • Highly competitive consulting rate commensurate with experience and expertise, • Flexible remote work arrangement Please submit the following: • Detailed resume highlighting SAP and EAM/EPPM experience, • Cover letter describing your SME qualifications and relevant client success stories, • Copies of required certifications (EAM/EPPM and SAP), • Professional references from recent consulting engagements Only candidates meeting the minimum certification and experience requirements will be considered for this SME-level position.
