Job Description Overview CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a graduate-level engineer with an interest in SCADA, renewable energy, and control systems. This role includes understanding and developing networking systems, HMI development, and on-site project support. The selected candidate will assist with the technical design and integration of substation and renewable energy Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. is engaged in renewable energy photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage projects that require a wide range of SCADA engineering capabilities and activities. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience by supporting the review of conceptual and detailed SCADA designs, including hardware layouts, networking equipment, fiber optic networks, communication diagrams, Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens, and points lists. Responsibilities also include site support and integration activities for local and field data networks, as well as coordination with related control systems. Qualified individuals will assist with quality assurance reviews, specification development, standards creation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), cybersecurity auditing, system testing, integration, and commissioning support at project sites. Essential Functions • Assist project teams in reviewing design documents and deliverables (drawings, point lists, network diagrams, configuration files, etc.) related to substation and renewable energy SCADA systems., • Support field teams as needed during project construction and commissioning activities., • Assist with network and SCADA engineering tasks for photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects., • Support configuration and integration of LAN/WAN networks, SCADA systems, and field communications., • Participate in field SCADA and network integration, including troubleshooting under senior engineer guidance., • Support commissioning activities for Substations, PV systems, and BESS facilities., • Assist with vendor drawing reviews for major equipment manufacturers., • Assist with internal and external design document reviews to verify alignment with customer requirements, industry codes, and company standards., • Support QA/QC processes, including verification that constructed systems align with approved engineering drawings., • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), system testing, and commissioning activities., • Develop familiarity with industry software platforms and protocols such as IEEE 61850, IEC 61131-3, DNP3, and Modbus., • Gain exposure to networking hardware including routers, managed switches, and fiber optic systems., • Work under the guidance of the SCADA Integration Manager and senior engineers to support assigned projects., • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, Project Managers, and Project Engineers to support successful project delivery., • Provide technical support to cross-functional teams as needed for assigned projects., • Participate in internal and client meetings to review project schedules, design progress, and technical updates. This position is classified as exempt meaning more than 50% of the employee’s time is spent performing exempt job duties consistent with this job description. If the employee finds the actual job duties change from those described herein, so the employee is not performing exempt duties more than 50 % of the time, the employee must immediately inform management. Responsibilities Qualifications • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline (preferred)., • Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program strongly preferred., • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in SCADA, controls, networking, power systems, or renewable energy preferred., • Exposure to utility-scale solar, substation, or BESS projects is a plus., • Foundational understanding of discipline specific design principles, engineering principles, and construction practices., • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and data sheets., • Demonstrates a proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Bluebeam and other web-based engineering tools., • Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and assist in developing technical recommendations., • Strong organizational skills and effective & clear written and verbal communication abilities., • Exposure to utility-scale solar, substation, or BESS projects is a plus., • Frequently works outdoors on uneven terrain at active construction and industrial sites., • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time., • May be required to stoop, bend, crouch, and navigate construction environments., • This position is primarily office-based but will require periodic field assignments and travel to project sites., • Works in a climate-controlled office environment approximately 50% of the time., • When assigned to project sites, may work in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, and wet environments., • May work near large industrial equipment and in areas subject to elevated noise levels., • May work in proximity to high-voltage electrical systems., • May occasionally work in areas where hazardous materials or chemicals are present. Qualifications Compensation & Benefits • Salary $75,000-$90,000/ year, • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
