You must be able to pass a drug, background screen, and be eligible to work in the U.S. JOB SUMMARY: The Staff Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and compliance of compounded IDPN (Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition) and IPN (Intraperitoneal Nutrition) products. Operating primarily within a sterile cleanroom or anteroom environment, the pharmacist is responsible for verifying product labeling, sterility, and adherence to all applicable regulatory standards, including USP <797>. In addition to compounding responsibilities, the Staff Pharmacist reviews and approves prescriptions, evaluates patients’ clinical status, and assesses the appropriateness and effectiveness of prescribed therapies. This role ensures that all activities align with the scope of pharmacy practice and may also provide support in other areas as operational needs arise. QUALIFICATIONS: • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy; licensed and in good standing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy, • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a sterile compounding or cleanroom environment preferred, but not a requirement., • Familiarity with USP <797> and <800> standards and aseptic technique, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in product verification, • Excellent organizational and time management skills, • Effective written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work independently while following standard operating procedures, • Proficient with standard office applications and pharmacy software systems, • Must pass initial and ongoing media fill and gloved fingertip tests per facility policy, • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team., • Self-directed with excellent time management skills and able to work independently, occasionally under stressful conditions., • Exposure to a fast-paced, deadline driven environment., • Knowledge in renal medications preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Verify the accuracy of compounded IDPN and IPN bags, including ingredients, volumes, labeling, and physical integrity of final products, • Oversight of compounding technicians to ensure proper technique and to guide/assist where needed., • Ensure products meet all internal quality standards and regulatory requirements before release, • Perform visual inspection for particulate matter, color, clarity, and bag integrity, • Review compound records and technician documentation for completeness and compliance, • Document final checks and release approvals in accordance with company procedures, • Ensure compliance with sterile compounding protocols and aseptic practices at all times, • Maintain current knowledge of applicable USP chapters and facility standard operating procedures, • Report any product deviations or quality concerns to the Lead Cleanroom Pharmacist, • Participate in routine cleanroom audits, personnel compliance checks, and quality assurance programs, • Ensure compliance with gowning, hand hygiene, and environmental monitoring requirements, • Perform duties in a cleanroom environment wearing required PPE for extended periods, • Assist in training and orientation of Pharmacy Technicians, Support Staff and Registered Dietitians., • Adhere to stability and compatibility guidelines and quality control procedures., • Assist in the shipping, receiving, and delivery of products as necessary., • Work with leads to manage the process for assessing and reporting medication-related incidents (QREs) and equipment error and/or failures to the company QA/PI committee., • Participate in Performance Improvement / Quality Assurance activities, educational programs, and departmental meetings., • Support the team culture within the organization by adhering to policies, practices, and the Company’s mission statement., • Perform job responsibilities within established regulatory guidelines (HIPAA/PHI) and reports non-compliant activity to Compliance department; protects patient and company confidentiality in all matters., • Maintain knowledge of all regulatory requirements by attending in-service classes and annual HIPAA updates., • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, policies and procedures and accrediting body standards relating to the practice of pharmacy.
