Job Description Pride Health is hiring an Entry Level Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Lincolnwood IL 60712. Job Details: Job Name: Phlebotomist II Location: Lincolnwood IL 60712 Duration: 3 months Contract (Possibilities of extension)/Contract to hire Shift: Mon, Tues. 9-2pm, Wed, Thurs. 9-5pm, Fri 9-4pm Pay rate: $23-25/hr. on w2/ *Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications Job Details: We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in performing a variety of duties including blood draws, specimen collection, maintain patient comfort, trust, and confidentiality and ensuring accurate specimen labeling and processing. Additionally, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations are integral to this position. Job Responsibilities: · Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws accurately and safely while following established clinical and laboratory procedures to ensure specimen quality and patient safety. · Prepare, label, handle, and process specimens correctly for laboratory testing, ensuring proper identification, storage, and transport in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. · Interact directly with patients, explaining procedures in a clear and compassionate manner to reduce anxiety, build trust, and provide a positive patient experience. · Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and PPE protocols, including proper disposal of sharp and biohazard materials. · Accurately document patient information and specimen data in laboratory information systems and on required forms to ensure traceability and compliance. · Verify patient identity and test orders prior to specimen collection to prevent errors and ensure compliance with healthcare standards. · Manage patient flow efficiently, ensuring minimal wait times while maintaining quality of care and attention to detail. · Respond professionally to patient questions or concerns and escalate issues appropriately when necessary. · Collaborate with laboratory staff, supervisors, and healthcare providers to support timely testing and reporting of results. · Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area, ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked, functional, and properly maintained. Minimum Qualifications: · High School Diploma or GED · Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. · Phlebotomy certification (required or preferred), such as: Required in California, Nevada, and Washington. A. CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) B. State license if applicable C. CPR certification (sometimes preferred) Work Experience: · 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections. · 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. · Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred. · Keyboard/data entry experience.
