Murphy VA Hospital, San Antonio, Texas Salary Range: $209,000 to $231,000 annually, based on locality pay and years of experience Incentives Offered: Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), Relocation Assistance, Sign-On Bonus (pending approval) Join Our Mission to Serve Those Who Served Our organization is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Endocrinologist to become part of our dynamic and collaborative team in San Antonio, Texas. This full-time role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality care to our nation’s heroes while enjoying the exceptional lifestyle and cultural richness of South Texas. Position Highlights Clinical Responsibilities: • Conduct inpatient and outpatient Endocrinology consultations and follow-up care., • Assess and manage a variety of endocrine disorders and diabetes, including advanced diabetes technologies., • Perform and interpret specialized endocrine testing procedures., • Preferred proficiency in conducting thyroid ultrasounds and thyroid nodule biopsies., • Utilize various care modalities: in-person visits, VA Video Connect (telehealth), telephone appointments, and e-consults., • Engage in patient outreach, including follow-ups on no-shows, abnormal test results, and medication refills., • Supervise and mentor fellows, residents, students, mid-level providers, and registered nurses., • Document all patient interactions in the VA’s electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with VA supervision guidelines., • Participate in on-call rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required., • Contribute to Endocrinology fellowship program activities, including journal clubs, case conferences, and multidisciplinary teaching sessions., • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and have the option to participate in research projects., • Setting: Combination of inpatient and outpatient care at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, with potential coverage at other locations., • Team Structure: Collaborate with a dedicated team of 5 full-time Endocrinologists, 1 part-time Endocrinologist, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 Physician Assistant, and 1 Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). You will serve a diverse population of Veterans with a wide range of endocrine conditions, including complex diabetes cases utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
