Job Description – Business Analyst (Data Quality, Catalog, SQL & Power BI) Location: Phoenix, USA (Onsite) Direct hiring - FTE with benefits No Visa hiring (No H1B, H4 or OPT hiring). Position Overview We are hiring a full time, onsite Business Analyst based in Phoenix, USA, with strong hands-on experience in Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), Informatica Data Catalog (EDC), SQL, and Power BI. The ideal candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, data governance teams, and engineering teams to ensure trusted, high-quality data and deliver impactful analytical insights through high quality dashboards and reports. Key Responsibilities: Business Requirements & Analysis • Engage with U.S. stakeholders onsite to gather, analyze, and document requirements for data, analytics, and reporting initiatives., • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria., • Conduct impact assessments and identify process gaps, dependencies, and risks. Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) • Define and maintain data quality rules, profiling checks, validation logic, and exception processes., • Analyze data quality issues, monitor DQ scorecards, and support remediation efforts., • Perform data profiling to discover anomalies, patterns, and improvement opportunities. Informatica Data Catalog (EDC) • Maintain and organize metadata, business glossary terms, lineage, and dataset documentation., • Enable findability, traceability, and trust by ensuring datasets are well-cataloged and governed., • Partner with data owners and stewards to maintain catalog accuracy and consistency. SQL & Data Validation • Write and optimize SQL queries for data exploration, validation, reconciliation, and issue analysis., • Validate transformations, metrics, and ETL outputs against business rules., • Support user acceptance testing by defining data validation scenarios. Power BI Reporting • Build high-quality Power BI dashboards that reflect business KPIs, are visually intuitive, and performance optimized., • Collaborate with engineers on semantic models, DAX calculations, and dataset design., • Ensure security, data refresh reliability, and dashboard usability. Stakeholder Collaboration • Act as an onsite liaison between business groups, IT, data engineering, governance, and QA., • Facilitate workshops, requirements walkthroughs, and data reviews., • Present insights, findings, and recommendations to leadership. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years as a Business Analyst in data/analytics roles., • Hands-on experience with: • Informatica IDQ (rules, profiling, scorecards), • Informatica EDC (cataloging, lineage, metadata), • SQL (medium to advanced proficiency), • Power BI (visuals, DAX, modeling) • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, lineage, and metadata management., • Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, process flows, data mapping documents, and UAT plans., • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, especially with U.S.-based stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Exposure to Azure Data Services, Purview, Fabric, Databricks, ADF., • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies., • Experience in enterprise metadata/governance frameworks. Education • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission.
