Job Description The Division of OB/GYN Generalist within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences is offering an exciting position for an Assistant Professor of Clinical. The selected candidate will act as an attending physician, primarily focusing on the care and management of obstetric patients. This role includes responsibilities for inpatient care at Jackson Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Our OB/GYN Generalists Division delivers comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services to women, collaborating with allied health professionals, specialists, and subspecialists across both the University of Miami/UHealth and Jackson Health Systems. Key Responsibilities: * Engage actively in both inpatient and outpatient clinical practices of Obstetrics and Gynecology at various facilities, including the University of Miami Kendall Medical Center, Desai Sethi Institute, Doral Commons, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. * Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in the OB/GYN field. * Formulate and implement comprehensive medical treatment plans that consider biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors. * Conduct thorough physical assessments of patients respectfully and logically, prescribing appropriate medical treatments and medications. * Collect essential and accurate information by reviewing relevant records and interviewing patients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Report findings to the supervising physician and adhere to policy co-sign requirements. * Notify the appropriate personnel about any hazardous conditions, equipment failures, or inadequacies in supplies. * Document all Quality Assurance (QA) incidents, including medication errors, following departmental guidelines. * Take initiative in enhancing knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education opportunities. * Make informed decisions regarding interventions based on patient information, preferences, current scientific evidence, and clinical judgment. * Ensure the confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with federal and state regulations. * Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures while safeguarding institutional assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation: * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Certification and Licensing: * Certification in the relevant specialty is required. * Possession of an active Florida Medical License and DEA registration is necessary. * Credentialing will be required. Experience: * A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Minimum Requirements: * Applicants should possess an MD or DO degree and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology. * Must have or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: * Ability to foster effective interpersonal relationships. * Capability to work independently or collaboratively. * Skill in analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks under pressure while meeting deadlines. * Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. * Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required. * Commitment to the core values of the organization. Department Specific Functions Members of the Generalist Division provide extensive obstetrical and gynecologic care to women, collaborating with allied health professionals, specialists, and subspecialists within both the University of Miami/UHealth and Jackson Health Systems. Specialty care encompasses areas such as uterine fibroids, sexual health, pelvic pain, vulvar abnormalities, family planning, preconception counseling, cervical dysplasia, and anal dysplasia. A strong dedication to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as conducting research, is essential for leading the Generalist Division as Division Chief. Clinical research spans a wide array of domains, including patient-oriented, translational, epidemiologic, behavioral, outcomes, implementation, or health services research. Additionally, faculty members will have the chance for daily interaction and instruction with our 28 residents and medical students. All candidates should be committed to delivering high-quality patient care and exemplary education. The department consists of over 30 faculty members and is situated at the University of Miami/UHealth and Jackson Health Systems in Miami, conveniently located in the heart of the city. The Jackson Memorial Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital sees approximately 4,000 deliveries annually and features a level 3 NICU staffed by UHealth neonatologists. The Women’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial has been recognized by the Maternal Safety Foundation as an Accreta Center of Excellence and a VBAC Center of Excellence. Additional Responsibilities: * Conduct outpatient clinics. * Provide direct care to OB/GYN patients. * Offer consultations for hospitalized patients on the Labor & Delivery service. * Provide telephone consultations for patients not on service. * Engage in inpatient Labor & Delivery at Jackson Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital. * Required to cover 12-hour shifts on Labor & Delivery, totaling 6 shifts per month. * Utilize EPIC at UHealth Clinics and Cerner at Jackson Health for documentation, along with MobileCharge for billing purposes.
