Guided by our vision “United by One Goal,” our mission is to ensure the transportation experience for the World Cup is seamless, memorable, and distinctly Kansas City POSITION OVERVIEW: As Senior Manager, Last Mile, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of last mile operations for a world-class transportation program supporting the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The Last Mile is the critical link between transport hubs and venue entrances, and this role is responsible for ensuring that final connections are safe, efficient, accessible, and engaging for all client groups. Working closely with venue teams, transport partners, security providers, and public authorities, you will design and deliver seamless pedestrian and mobility journeys that prioritize safety, accessibility, and fan experience. This is a senior planning-focused role, suited to professionals experienced in large-scale event transport, pedestrian movement, and multi-agency coordination within complex operating environments. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. RESPONSIBILITIES: LEADERSHIP & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT • Lead the development and delivery of the Tournament-wide Last Mile operational strategy, aligned with venue transport plans, security operations, and crowd management principles., • Embed fan experience objectives into all last mile planning, ensuring journeys are engaging, intuitive, and memorable for all client groups., • Define last mile concepts, standards, and operating principles to ensure consistency across all venues and locations., • Identify, map, and validate all last mile routes and pedestrian flows for each venue and location., • Plan and integrate wayfinding, event branding, barriers/fencing, lighting, and mobility support infrastructure., • Ensure all last mile routes comply with accessibility standards and FIFA access and client group separation protocols., • Collaborate with local councils, law enforcement, public transport operators, venue management, and security teams to coordinate last mile operations., • Engage with accessibility advocacy groups to ensure inclusive and equitable planning outcomes., • Define requirements for last mile staffing, volunteers, and contractors, ensuring appropriate training and briefing standards., • Ensure all last mile operations align with public safety, crowd management, accessibility, and event compliance requirements., • Work closely with safety and emergency services to align pedestrian flows with screening, ingress, and egress procedures., • Monitor operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to manage congestion, bottlenecks, and safety concerns., • Maintain accurate operational documentation, plans, and readiness records. LIVE EVENT OPERATIONS • Manage last mile operations during live event periods, either from the Host City Transport Operations Centre (HC TROC) or in-field as required., • Monitor crowd flows in real time and implement dynamic adjustments to manage peak arrival and departure periods., • Coordinate rapid responses to incidents, accessibility issues, congestion, or emerging safety risks., • Support daily operational briefings, debriefs, and reporting during the tournament period. PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT • Represent TMS with the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and leadership in all meetings and communications., • Ensure timely and effective communication with internal teams and external partners., • Maintain organized documentation within company systems and share key information as required., • Proven leadership experience in last mile planning, pedestrian movement, or access operations for large-scale events., • Strong understanding of crowd dynamics, public safety principles, and accessibility standards., • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex, multi-agency operational environments., • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience coordinating public authorities, security, and venue operators., • Ability to translate complex operational requirements into clear, actionable plans and diagrams., • Strong operational judgment with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to evolving conditions., • Deep knowledge of passenger transport environments, including bus, coach, rail, fleet, and multimodal interfaces., • Empathy and cultural awareness when designing journeys for diverse international audiences., • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including operational reporting and readiness documentation., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and planning or mapping tools. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: • University degree or equivalent professional experience., • 8–10 years of progressive experience in transport planning, event operations, crowd management, or venue access planning., • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale last mile or pedestrian movement operations for major events., • Previous involvement in complex international events, preferably FIFA World Cup™, Olympic Games, or equivalent scale., • Experience working across both U.S. and international event environments., • Strong understanding of transport operations, safety management, and accessibility compliance., • Advanced experience producing operational plans, readiness reports, and post-event evaluations., • Strong business acumen and professional transport language.
