Job Description Job Title: Electrical Assembly I Job Description The Electrical Assembly I role focuses on 5DX verification testing and the diagnosis and repair of electronic circuit board assemblies down to the component level. You will use a variety of electronic test and measurement equipment, follow detailed assembly documentation, and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance diagnostic efficiency and manufacturing yield in a fast-paced, climate-controlled production environment. Responsibilities • Perform 5DX verification testing on electronic circuit board assemblies and diagnose faults down to the component level., • Repair electronic circuit board assemblies based on test results and fault data, ensuring high-quality workmanship., • Use electronic test and measurement equipment with proficiency, including multimeters and related tools., • Read, understand, and utilize assembly documentation such as bills of materials (BOM), visuals, deviations, test tools, and test procedures., • Analyze fault data outputs and determine appropriate rework actions to resolve issues efficiently., • Escalate borderline or unclear faults to process technicians to ensure accurate resolution., • Assist the Test Engineering department with ongoing data evaluation programs aimed at improving diagnostic efficiency and process yields., • Understand, recognize, and follow production requirements, rules, policies, and procedures., • Work collaboratively as a team member to help the Diagnostic/Manufacturing department achieve process yield and production goals., • Comply with all safety and health rules and regulations associated with the position and follow directions provided by supervisors., • Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy., • Complete annual operator re-certification and successfully pass the required test., • Present information clearly and respond to questions from various internal and external groups when needed., • Use a personal computer with a Windows-based operating system and related software to access documentation, data, and company software packages., • Write simple correspondence, read and understand visual aids, and interpret graphs and other basic technical information., • Perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, and percent as required for testing and documentation., • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and testing operations. Essential Skills • Ability to diagnose and repair electronic circuit board assemblies to the component level., • Proficiency in using electronic test and measurement equipment, such as multimeters and related tools., • Ability to read and interpret assembly documentation including bills of materials (BOM), visuals, deviations, test tools, and procedures., • Basic electrical wiring or assembly experience preferred., • Strong initiative and drive to learn a trade through an in-depth training academy., • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions., • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals., • Ability and motivation to learn to interpret blueprints, graphs, and electrical schematics related to the role., • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos., • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions., • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables., • Comfort using a Windows-based personal computer and related software., • Advanced PC skills, including familiarity with internal software packages., • Effective communication skills, including the ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with electrical assembly and wiring in a production or industrial environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings., • Experience with mechanical assembly and production processes., • Hands-on experience using hand and power tools for assembly work., • Familiarity with electrical schematics and control panels., • Experience with soldering and panel wiring, including crimping and connector assembly., • Experience in electronics or electronic assembly is beneficial., • Experience working as an assembler, panel builder, or in industrial production environments., • Comfort with blueprint reading, mechanical tasks, and working in a fast-paced production setting., • Willingness to participate fully in a structured training academy to build electrical and diagnostic skills. Work Environment This role is based in a climate-controlled, fast-paced production environment. Standard shift hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with availability for overtime and occasional Saturday work as needed. Initial training includes a one-week Electrical Academy and site orientation, typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with Monday starting at 7:30 a.m. for orientation), conducted in a classroom setting. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to policies and procedures, and teamwork, with access to modern test equipment and computer systems to support electrical assembly and diagnostic tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
