Job Description Job Title: Camp Discovery Staff Location: Brownell Talbot College Preparatory School Camp Dates: June 8 - June 12, 2026 June 15 - June 18, 2026 (no camp on June 19 due to holiday) June 22 - June 26, 2026 June 29 - July 3, 2026 July 6 - July 10, 2026 July 13 - July 17, 2026 Please refer to our Camp Discovery website to learn more about each camp. Salary: Camp Teachers receive a stipend based on number of days of camp: $1,350 for 5 day camps $1,080 for 4 day campus Application Deadline: April 15, 2026 Join the Camp Discovery Leadership Team! This role supervises counselors, supports program areas (arts, sports, adventure, science, drama, etc.), and helps ensure activities are safe, inclusive, and engaging. Position Summary: Staff serve as a program leader and instructor, working closely with the Executive Camp Director and leadership team to design, plan, and facilitate daily themed activities. This role is responsible for leading hands-on experiences across program areas such as maker space (art), outdoor adventure, and other specialty activities with a variety of age groups. In addition to teaching and activity leadership, the staff supports daily camp operations by assisting with camper check-in and check-out, camp store, and helping ensure smooth transitions throughout the day! This position plays a key role in creating engaging, age-appropriate programming while fostering a safe, inclusive, and energetic camp environment. Strong organization, creativity, flexibility, and collaboration are essential to success in this role. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: * Plan and lead daily themed activities for multiple age groups * Submit supply requests to the Executive Camp Director at least three weeks in advance * Facilitate Maker Space (art) programming and/or Outdoor Adventure experiences * Assist with daily camper check-in and check-out procedures * Supervise and support counselors during activities and transitions * Ensure camper safety and adherence to camp policies * Create engaging, inclusive learning environments * Serve as a positive role model and uphold Camp Discovery values * Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces * Support whole-group events and special activities * Adapt to changing needs using creativity, problem-solving, and conflict resolution Qualifications: Required: * Experience working with youth and adults * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills * Background check and sex offender registry clearance * CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (completed before camp) * Lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain (training provided) Preferred: * Some college coursework * Previous camp or youth program experience * Skills in one or more areas: outdoor living, arts, music, theater, sports, aquatics, STEM, recreation games * Experience working with diverse populations Personal Qualities: * Possess a positive attitude. * Excellent written and verbal skills. * Strong organizational skills. * Proven success within a work setting requires collaboration, cooperation, and collegiality. Physical Requirements: * Participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor and indoor settings. * Ability to set up, take down, and clean outdoor camp equipment. * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
