Job DescriptionDescription: The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs across thermoforming lines, extrusion equipment, and facility systems. This position supports production by helping maintain safe, efficient, and reliable equipment operation. Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Care • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on extrusion lines, thermoforming machines, grinders, chillers, compressors, vacuum systems, conveyors, and other production equipment., • Complete lubrication, filter replacements, belt changes, alignment checks, and routine adjustments with minimal supervision., • Assist with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting; identify common failure points on production equipment., • Repair or replace basic mechanical components such as bearings, hoses, valves, cylinders, fittings, limit switches, sensors, and wear parts., • Support senior technicians during more complex breakdowns, changeovers, or machine rebuilds., • Help set up or adjust equipment during production startups, mold changes, or tooling changes., • Perform general building maintenance, including lighting, basic plumbing, and minor electrical tasks within approved scope and training., • Assist with maintenance of facility support systems such as chillers, air compressors, dust collection, water systems, • Accurately complete PM logs, work orders, repair notes, and parts usage records., • Follow all GMPs, food-safety standards, LOTO, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies., • Communicate equipment status and repair needs to production and maintenance leadership., • Participate in training, skill-building, and continuous improvement initiatives., • High school diploma or GED., • 1-3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical trades., • Basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems., • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and other basic maintenance tools., • Ability to read simple mechanical diagrams, work instructions, and PM procedures., • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in various temperature environments., • Experience in plastics manufacturing (extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding)., • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems (480V), VFDs, relays, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment., • Technical school or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related fields., • Strong mechanical aptitude, • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills, • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision, • Strong communication and teamwork, • Commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality, • Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and moving equipment., • Required use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)., • Work at heights, in confined spaces, or near hot equipment
