The accountant will report to the Director of accounting. The position will primarily be responsible for the General Accounting duties for a portfolio of Long-Term Care facilities, specifically, month-end close, preparing journal entries, and financial reporting, maintaining accurate reconciliations, performing analysis, communicating with the operations teams, and other projects as needed. Essential Job Functions: • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department., • Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements., • Maintains the general ledger., • Prepare and maintain financial reporting packages for assigned portfolio of facilities., • Prepare multiple, detailed financial variance analyses and communicate recommendations to operations team for, • financial improvement., • Prepare consolidated financial statements and packages for Senior Management., • Reconcile balance sheets, including bank statements and fixed asset schedules., • Verified payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the, • appropriate GL accounts., • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform the, • annual audit., • Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies., • As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates, • to enhance the accounting software., • Monitor key performance indicators by facility and area groups., • Communicate timely and collaborate effectively with all levels of operations team, supporting the partnership, • model of the corporation., • Assist the Director of Accounting and SVP of Finance with ad hoc projects, including but not limited to Annual, • Budgets, ROIs, Proformas, etc., • Assist with Accounts Payable processing as needed., • Assist with Payroll processing as needed., • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting or finance., • Minimum of two years’ experience in general accounting., • Multiple facility/location reporting experience., • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance., • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation., • Long-term healthcare experience, or related healthcare.
