Job Description Position Description | No C2C or 3rd Party Submissions Please As a Senior Software Engineer/Developer you will work as a technical expert in the design, development, assessment, and fielding of advanced cyber capabilities and software solutions supporting offensive, defensive, and command and control (C2) cyberspace operations. Operating within a complex and dynamic mission environment, this position is integral to supporting Air Force Cyberspace Command and U.S. Cyber Command objectives. The incumbent develops, modifies, and maintains mission-critical software and cyber tools, and manages high-impact projects to enable operational readiness and capability advancement. MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced. The successful candidate must have four years of recent system/software engineering experience with a strong understanding of software architectures. The candidate will possess and maintain required skills to include, but not limited to: • Experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and developing cyberspace capabilities/software solutions, • Experience with Windows based command line and script development, • Experience with Bash, Python or C/C++, • Experience with C#/PowerShell, • Experience with Reverse Engineering with Linux-based RE tools (e.g., GDB, Ghidra, IDA Pro, Radare), • Experience with Exploit Development, • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, • Familiarity with DoD, Air Force, and national-level cyber policies, procedures, and security protocols for handling classified materials., • Experience with DoD networks., • Strong coding proficiency in supported languages and secure software development frameworks., • Advanced project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and risk assessment for complex, multi-agency projects., • Excellent communication abilities, capable of preparing and presenting technical reports, briefings, and decision papers for senior leadership. In this role you will: • Design, develop, and maintain advanced cyber tools for Windows environments, focusing on offensive, defensive, and situational awareness capabilities., • Engineer low-level Windows components (e.g., drivers, DLLs, services) to support stealthy tool deployment, system interaction, and evasion techniques., • Reverse engineer Windows internals and third-party software to identify vulnerabilities, develop exploits, or enhance tool effectiveness., • Develop and maintain capabilities in C/C++, Rust, and/or Assembly for maximum performance, stealth, and control in target Windows environments., • Conduct in-depth research into Windows OS internals, including kernel-mode operations, APIs, security features, and evasion techniques., • Integrate tools with command-and-control (C2) frameworks, ensuring reliability, encryption, and secure communications across various operational environments., • Lead the development of detection-resistant payloads, implant frameworks, and post-exploitation modules tailored to specific mission requirements., • Collaborate with red teams, blue teams, and threat emulation groups to validate tool effectiveness and stealth against modern EDR and antivirus systems., • Implement obfuscation, encryption, and code-packing strategies to enhance operational security (OPSEC) and avoid detection during engagements., • Provide technical mentorship and code reviews to junior developers; enforce secure coding practices and development standards., • Stay current on evolving cyber threats, zero-day exploits, and Windows platform updates to ensure toolsets remain effective and relevant.
