We are currently looking for an Toddler Aide/Assistant Become part of a hard-working, highly dedicated team of teachers! Turnquist Child Enrichment Center, a program of ACTG is a 4-Star Parent Aware, Strong Beginnings, NAEYC Accredited Child Care Center. What are some things that make Turnquist great? Garden with outdoor teaching experiences ● Science room ● Small Class sizes ● Lower ratios ● S.M.A.R.T program ● Full size Gym ● Family fun nights Position type: Full Time Classroom : Toddler 16 Months-Preschool Age Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm and monthly after school activities Starting Pay range: $18.00-19.50 per hour, depending on qualifications. Benefits: ACTG offers employer subsidized Medical, employer paid Life and ADD, in addition to other benefits including 401(k), PTO, Holiday Pay, Dental, and Vision to employees who work 30 or more hours per week. Location: ACTG is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis close to public transit and freeways, downtown, retail, restaurants, and walking trails. Description of responsibilities: ● Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and carrying out individual and group classroom activities ● Provide guidance and inspiration to assist each child’s success in each area of the classroom ● Ensure constant communication with Lead teacher and other program staff ● Ability to pass a criminal background upon offer Experience/Education: ● Some College credit in education, psychology, human services, art, multicultural studies or any related fields (Required) ● Experience working with children with special needs (Preferred) ● At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering as an Aide, Assistant Teacher, Teacher, or Paraprofessional in a daycare, school, or early childhood center (Required) ● Ability to meet Rule 3 requirements for Assistant Teachers () Skills: ● Ability to plan and implement high quality, interactive lesson plans ● Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in high stress situations ● Ability to take on a teacher role in the absence of the lead teacher ● Ability to work well with others on the team and communicate effectively ● Some artistic skills not required but preferred ● Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones All applicants will receive an acknowledgment confirming receipt of their application.
