Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse WorkerJob Description The warehouse worker receives, stores, and issues materials, equipment, and other items within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. This role focuses on accurate inventory handling, safe and efficient material movement, and maintaining a clean, organized storage environment to support timely and reliable order fulfillment. Responsibilities • Receive incoming stock items, count quantities, and accurately record data manually or using computer systems., • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards., • Verify inventory records by comparing system data to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or correct errors as needed., • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas., • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to ensure clear product identification., • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility standards., • Keep detailed records on the use and damage of stock and stock handling equipment., • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, and promptly report any damage or quality issues to supervisors., • Provide assistance and direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers to support smooth operations., • Determine appropriate storage methods, identification, and stock locations based on product turnover, environmental factors, and facility capabilities., • Use inventory systems and RF scanners to locate, pick, and record items accurately., • Perform order picking, packing, and material handling tasks to prepare orders for shipment., • Work with a consistent sense of urgency and purpose to support the timely shipment of critical prescriptions., • Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Essential Skills, • Strong verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions and document inventory information clearly., • Analytical and problem-solving ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues., • Ability to work effectively as a team player while maintaining a high level of attention to detail., • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies that support secure and efficient warehouse and stockroom operations., • Experience using RF scanners and basic inventory systems for picking, packing, and stock tracking., • Capacity to stand for at least 8 hours and perform repetitive physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation., • Ability to safely push, pull, grasp, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation., • High school diploma or GED., • 57 years of warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in inventory management, order picking, packing, and material handling within a warehouse or distribution environment., • Familiarity with RF scanner operation for inventory control and order processing., • Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse or stockroom setting., • Ability to adapt to flexible shift schedules as needed by the operation., • Comfort working in multiple departments performing tasks such as manually opening items, filling containers, checking orders, and placing orders., • Commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality in a high-impact, time-sensitive environment.Why Work Here? The dress code allows jeans, khakis or dress pants, capri pants (no shorter than mid-calf), scrubs, t-shirts, polo shirts, sneakers, closed-toe shoes, leggings, sweatpants, spandex pants, and jackets, hoodies, and sweaters without pockets. Sleeveless shirts, shorts, scarves or dangling jewelry, jackets, hoodies, or sweaters with pockets, clothing with inappropriate words or graphics, hats or head coverings, ripped clothing or clothing showing skin, exposed midriffs, and pajama pants are not permitted. Employees may carry their phones in their pockets but must not use them on the warehouse floor, and adherence to these guidelines is required. Shifts are flexible, with options that can include weekday evening and overnight hours, and candidates are encouraged to review an online video walkthrough of the facility to better understand the work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsville, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
