American Traveler is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel job in Arlington, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technologist, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 04/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 13, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in a hospital-based Nuclear Medicine department with 4 rooms and a PET/CT suite, • General nuclear medicine studies performed include bone, renal, gastric emptying, GI bleed, HIDA, thyroid uptake/scan, parathyroid, and V/Q perfusion studies, as well as cardiac and PET/CT, • Patient population spans adolescents through geriatrics, • Daily caseload of 15–18 patients, • 5x8 day shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, • On-call requirement: one night per week (5:30 PM – 6:30 AM Mon–Fri) and one weekend per month (24-hour coverage Sat–Sun), • Epic EMR used; Radiology CT online training completed on unitRequirements, • Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required; independent, proficient practice is expected, • NMTCB certification required; ARRT preferred, • BLS required, • VA license required, or proof of active license from another state with proof of VA license application submitted (can start pending VA license — must be able to verify application), • License required if applicable, • Proficiency in nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac studies, bone scans, brain scans, lung scans, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, and myocardial imaging, • Skills in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and PACS required, • PDF copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration, • Any requested flu or COVID vaccine exemptions must comply with CMS guidelines and include supporting documentationAdditional Information, • Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and measuring radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using radioisotope equipment, • Duties include preparing stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculating doses to be administered by radiologists, • Seasoned travelers preferred; first-time travelers with significant experience may be considered, • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31), • Scrub color: Pewter Grey, • Smoke- and nicotine-free facility With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
