This is a state-funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children, adolescents, and perinatal women. The University of Texas Dell Medical School is a Health-Related Institution (HRI) for the TCMHCC. This position has an end date of 8/31/2027, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress towards goals. This position will be assigned as a remote position with an expectation to work on-site for some of the scheduled work week, which will require that you work and live in central Texas. Remote work will require reliable internet access and a suitable workspace free from distractions. DMS HR will contact employees to confirm location of residence and work location is allowable by UT standards. Failing to accurately report work location may result in revocation of approval of Flexible Work Arrangement and/or other disciplinary action. This role is central to translating complex clinical and behavioral health information into engaging visual content that supports outreach to providers, schools, community organizations, and families across Texas. The Communications Program Coordinator supports communication efforts by contributing to the planning and execution of strategic messaging. While aligned with system-wide branding and communication standards, the role focuses on advancing the goals of the assigned department through content development, audience engagement, and event support. The position collaborates with subject matter experts, clinicians, outreach teams, and administrative leaders to create and disseminate content across digital, print, and live platforms. This role plays a key part in promoting program impact, supporting internal and external communications, and ensuring message consistency across audiences. Executes Communication Strategies * Creates and implements communication plans tailored to Consortium program goals. * Collaborates with subject matter experts to translate technical content into accessible language. * Aligns messaging with system-wide branding and communication standards. Ensure all communications align with legislative priorities, university standards, and consortium goals. * Monitors engagement and performance metrics and prepares reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders, including the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). Creates and Disseminates Targeted Content * Create multimedia assets (e.g., short videos, digital campaigns) to increase program visibility and engagement. * Maintain and update program websites and digital assets including website design and content editing in WordPress. * Monitor engagement metrics and recommend improvements to optimize reach among providers, educators, and families. * Develops written and visual content including infographics, slide decks, flyers, brochures, social media graphics, reports, newsletters, logos, videos, and social media posts. * Tailors content for various audiences such as clinicians, educators, families, and community partners. * Disseminates content through websites, newsletters, and digital marketing tools. * Ensures accuracy, clarity, and adherence to branding and accessibility standards across multiple mental health initiatives . * Participates in proofreading, editing, and publishing processes to ensure adherence to Consortium guidelines . * Ensure ADA and accessibility compliance for digital materials. Supports Program and Event Communications * Plans and develops communication materials for presentations, webinars, meetings, and special events supporting TCMHCC programs. * Ensures availability of communication collateral for internal and external engagements. * Collaborates with outreach teams, printing vendors, translation vendors, and finance departments to ensure timely production and dissemination of communication collateral, including multilingual materials. * Assist with internal communications, including employee newsletters, program updates, websites/hubs, employee biographies, and cross-department initiatives. * Prepares talking points and presentation materials for clinicians and leadership. * Coordinates with outreach teams to align messaging and logistics. * Represents the program in interdepartmental and inter-institutional meetings. Maintains Communication Standards and Processes * Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for communication workflows. * Participates in quality assurance reviews of content and materials. * Supports internal communications such as employee newsletters and updates. * Advises on best practices for inclusive and effective communication. * Maintains distribution lists and manages document access across platforms such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Box, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and SharePoint. * Manage document access for a range of internal and external stakeholder groups. * Maintain inventory of communications inventory. * Maintains organized repositories of design, content, and digital assets, including inventory tracking of communication materials.
