Cancer Partners of Nebraska is seeking a Radiation Therapist. This position provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include reviewing prescription and diagnosis; acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintaining records, reports, and files. May assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization. CPN offers competitive starting salary and benefits along with a lucrative sign-on bonus. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards., • Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription., • Enter data into computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage., • Follow principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others., • Maintain records, reports and files as required, including such information as radiation dosages, equipment settings and patients' reactions., • Check radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation., • Observe and reassure patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician or turn equipment off if unexpected adverse reactions occur., • Help physicians, radiation oncologists and clinical physicists to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans, using information about patient condition and anatomy., • Educate, prepare and reassure patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians' advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care., • Graduate of accredited radiation therapy technology program, • Knowledge of and appreciation for a teamwork concept, clinic policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care as it relates to the Radiation Oncology department., • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques, • Skill in proper equipment use, preventive maintenance and repair, • Computer keyboarding skills, • Ability to act in a professional and positive manner when interacting with patients, • Ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations, • Day shift, • Monday to Friday, • Rotating calls on weekend, • Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting and reaching, • Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination, • Frequent standing for extended periods of time, • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, • Vision must be corrected to 20/20 and hearing must be in normal range

Participation: Works with other nurses in taking weekend, night, and holiday calls on a rotating basis. Saturday - Sunday, 12 hour shift.
