American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Montgomery, Alabama. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a busy Emergency Department with 71 beds, serving multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients, • Patient ratios are 1:4 in the ER, 1:5 for med-surg holds, and 1:3 for ICU holds, • High-acuity Level II center functioning at times as Level I, • No floating required, • Shift options include 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and 3p-3a; schedule runs on a 4-week cycle, • Weekend rotation is every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month for block scheduling, • Holiday coverage required for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy, • Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors, • Team supported by CNAs (1:12 ratio), charge nurse, hospitalist, phlebotomy until 0300, IV/VAT team, and a HUC/receptionist, • Travelers new to the facility or returning after 1+ years receive 24 hours classroom and 24 hours unit orientation, • Scrubs may be any solid color, • Parking is available in a parking garage, • First-time travelers welcome if all experience and certification requirements are met, • Up to 7 days of approved time off is allowed, excluding blackout dates\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AL or compact RN license required, • At least 2 years of critical care experience (ICU or ER), with the most recent year in a Level II Emergency Department, • Cerner or Epic EMR experience is required, • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted), NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required, • Competency with trach and vent care, ICU drips, chest tubes, art line, CVL, PICC, midline, port, foley, splint/ortho device use, BiPAP/high flow, and continuous bladder irrigation, • No local candidates within 60 miles considered, • Perm staff must wait 6 months before being eligible for consideration as a traveler\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
