American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/15/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is hiring a skilled RN for an Adult ICU position requiring trauma level 1 experience and an active AZ or compact RN license. • Work in Adult ICU Pods within a large acute care hospital, • Units include SICU, MICU, and Trauma ICU with a total of 120 beds, • Patient population includes trauma, medical, surgical, transplant, and critical care cases in a level 1 trauma setting, • Bedside procedures include bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, and hemodialysis catheter placements, • RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips, • Uses Cerner EMR (experience preferred), • 12-hour night shifts, with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks, • Holiday coverage based on unit rotation, • Floating required among all ICU areas and may include MedSurg/Tele units and the Westgate campus, • Intensivist and RT support available 24/7, • Self-scheduling available, with schedule adjustments by unit schedulers, • Navy scrubs required, • Responsibilities include managing complex critical care cases, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and performing bedside procedures as needed, • Floating may be required to similar ICU or MedSurg/Tele units and to the nearby Westgate campus, • SIMs lab and orientation includes pass/fail skills assessment on day one—failure to pass may result in assignment termination, • Strict dress code requires navy scrubs, natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean-shaven for men for fit testing, • Returned candidates must not have been employed in a CommonSpirit facility (including CHI/Dignity) within the past year, • Travelers must provide their own vehicle, • Training includes two floor orientation shifts and completion of lifts, restraints, and wound care policy education, • Holiday coverage rotates with core staff, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of application, • Minimum of 2 years ICU experience in a 600+ bed teaching hospital, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required, • Proven ability to titrate drips and manage advanced ventilators including Cervo I, Jets, and Oscillators, • Must pass a dysrhythmia (Relias) exam prior to acceptance, with only two attempts permitted, • Must pass a day-one SIMs lab competency for sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes, • Experience with adult critical care patient populations, • Driver's license required for radius verification (must live 50+ miles from facility), • Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-637059.
