Who We Are \n \n At SLM, our Core Purpose is to Maximize Human Potential. We believe in the health and well-being of our Team Members, which includes having an industry-best Total Rewards program. That program includes a flexible vacation policy, exemplary health benefits (Cigna), a 401k plan with a dedicated financial advisor, a financial education program, and top pay for our Team Members. \n \n Who is Second Life Mac: SLM is the industry leader in Apple device buybacks for schools and businesses. We are the thought leaders when it comes to educating our clients on maximizing the value of their used Apple devices and ensuring that students/employees always have the technology they need to do great work. We purchase used devices, bring them to our facility to be cleaned and refurbished, then give them a second life by selling them to consumers at a great price. We’re a company that puts significant focus on helping our team members maximize their human potential. In fact, we’re so dedicated to this purpose that we embed it into our long-term business plan and vision. \n \n The right candidates: We are looking for people who fit our core values (Joy to Work With, Win the Day, Sense of Urgency, Growth Minded, and Flows Forward). SLM hires and promotes using these values, and they are in the core of every Team Member we have; people either have them, or they don’t. SLM is an incredibly entrepreneurial company and people with that mindset fit in extremely well with our team. We are looking for people who want to be a part of something bigger, something special, something life changing. \n \n As a part of our hiring process, we ask that you please complete this 8–10-minute culture survey to be considered for this role at SLM: \n \n https://go.cultureindex.com/p/lbxDYHVVDlfrH \n \n The Role \n \n The E-Commerce role at Second Life Mac is a hands-on ownership role responsible for managing, improving, and growing our e-commerce selling operations across the platforms and channels where SLM sells its products. \n \n You will own the day-to-day health and performance of our e-commerce platforms, including marketplaces such as Amazon, as well as other marketplace and strategic partner channels. This means being close to the details: monitoring account performance, managing listings and inventory, resolving operational issues, analyzing returns and customer trends, and building the systems and reporting that keep our e-commerce business running at a high level. \n \n Amazon is an important part of the role, and you should be highly comfortable working inside Amazon Seller Central, including FBA and FBM operations. At the same time, this is broader than an Amazon account-management position. You will be responsible for bringing the same level of ownership and operational discipline to SLM’s broader e-commerce platform portfolio. \n \n As our e-commerce business evolves, you will help SLM evaluate opportunities, establish strong operating processes, and successfully manage additional channels when they become part of our business. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n \n\n • Own the day-to-day performance of SLM’s e-commerce platforms and channels, ensuring listings, inventory, account health, customer experience, and operational execution are managed at a high level.\n, • Manage Amazon Seller Central performance, including feedback score, order defect rate, late shipment rate, A-to-Z claims, cancellation rate, and other key account-health metrics, with a clear focus on maintaining excellent seller performance.\n, • Determine the best channel through which to fulfill our devices in order to maximize device profitability.\n, • Ensure product listings, pricing, condition information, and inventory availability are accurate and live in the appropriate channels, with a focus on maximizing revenue and customer satisfaction.\n, • Manage key marketplace programs and relationships end-to-end, including serial number and IMEI enrollment, return escalation workflows, sourcing-cost uploads, and new program capabilities as they become available.\n, • Monitor FBA inventory health, including inbound discrepancies, unsellable returns, removal orders, and reimbursement opportunities, ensuring issues are identified, pursued, and resolved.\n, • Track and analyze return reason codes across all of our portfolio channels to identify fraud patterns, processing defects, listing issues, and customer-experience opportunities — and take action based on what the data shows.\n, • Own marketplace claims, disputes, reimbursements, and escalations, ensuring SLM captures money it is owed and recurring issues are addressed at the root cause.\n, • Build and maintain a weekly reporting cadence that gives leadership a clear, accurate picture of the e-commerce business, including performance metrics, claims, open issues, inventory health, channel trends, and key opportunities.\n, • Build scalable workflows, trackers, and operating processes that allow SLM’s e-commerce business to run consistently and efficiently as volume and complexity increase.\n, • Apply the same operational discipline across SLM’s marketplace and strategic selling channels, adapting processes appropriately for the requirements of each platform.\n, • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other teams to ensure e-commerce decisions support SLM’s broader business objectives.\n\n \n Qualifications \n \n\n • 2–4 years of hands-on e-commerce marketplace experience, with direct responsibility for account performance and operational outcomes.\n, • Experience managing e-commerce operations with a high degree of ownership — not simply executing tasks, but identifying issues, determining root causes, and driving them through resolution.\n, • Strong working knowledge of Amazon Seller Central and meaningful experience managing a high-volume Amazon account, including listings, inventory, returns, claims, account health, and seller-performance requirements.\n, • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve performance across e-commerce channels, including customer experience, order quality, fulfillment, returns, and operational efficiency.\n, • Strong analytical instincts and the ability to turn marketplace, inventory, return, and customer data into actionable decisions.\n, • Proven experience managing inventory, reconciliation, reimbursement claims, and issue resolution within e-commerce platforms.\n, • Experience in refurbished, used, or consumer electronics is strongly preferred, with an understanding of challenges such as condition disputes, return abuse, grading inconsistencies, serial-number tracking, and fraud patterns.\n, • Strong systems-building instincts. You don’t just work cases; you build the trackers, workflows, reporting cadences, and processes that allow an operation to run consistently without starting from scratch every week.\n, • Comfortable learning, managing, and optimizing across our portfolio of e-commerce and strategic partner channels.\n, • Entrepreneurial and growth-minded, with the ability to operate effectively in an environment where processes, platforms, and opportunities continue to evolve.\n\n \n SLM takes pride in being an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team. We do not discriminate against any individual based upon race, religion, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, and/or related medication conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, color, sex, national origin, age, marital status, military/veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
