Quantity Surveyor (Schedule of Rates – Version 8 Experience) Location: UB and TW postcodes, covering areas along the M25 and neighbouring counties, forming the western boundary of Greater London Salary: £50,000–£60,000 Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with 2–3 years’ experience working with Version 8 Schedule of Rates (V8 SOR) to join a growing team. This role involves managing costs, valuations, and commercial performance across a range of projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in schedule of rates–based contracts, cost control, and commercial management within construction, maintenance, or infrastructure environments. Key Responsibilities • Manage and administer projects using Version 8 Schedule of Rates (V8 SOR), • Prepare and review cost estimates, valuations, and variations, • Ensure accurate measurement and pricing of works in line with SOR guidelines, • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports, • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are met, • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and manage subcontractor accounts, • Identify commercial risks and opportunities across projects, • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company procedures Requirements • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, maintenance, or infrastructure sectors, • Strong working knowledge of Version 8 Schedule of Rates (V8 SOR), • Experience working with schedule of rates contracts and cost management, • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills, • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software, • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management (preferred) Desirable • Experience in planned maintenance, social housing, or public sector frameworks, • Membership of, or working towards, a professional body (e.g., RICS), • Experience preparing tenders and contract documentation What We Offer • Competitive salary and benefits package, • Opportunities for professional development and training, • Supportive and collaborative working environment, • Career progression within a growing organisation How to Apply If you have strong Version 8 Schedule of Rates experience and are looking for your next challenge as a Quantity Surveyor, we would love to hear from you
