Our client is a growing provider of supported accommodation for young people and is looking for a confident and motivated Deputy Manager to join their team in Plymouth. Supporting young people aged 16-17, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to help ensure the service is safe, well-led and focused on achieving positive outcomes for the young people in its care. This is a hands-on management position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing your career within children's services. The Role Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the effective day-to-day running of the service and deputise in their absence. Key responsibilities will include: • Providing visible and supportive leadership to Team Leaders and Support Workers., • Promoting high standards of safeguarding, care and child-centred practice., • Supporting staff through supervision, development, team meetings and performance management., • Monitoring support plans, risk assessments, records and overall quality of practice., • Supporting audits, quality assurance and continuous service improvement., • Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and challenging situations., • Helping young people develop independence, confidence and essential life skills., • Building strong relationships with social workers, Local Authorities, education providers and other professionals., • Supporting Ofsted readiness and maintaining high standards across the service., • Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and staff development., • Supporting staffing levels, rotas and the day-to-day operational management of the service., • Participating in the management on-call rota when required. About You We're looking for someone who is experienced, approachable and confident in leading others. You may currently be working as a: • Deputy Manager, • Team Leader, • Senior Support Worker, • Senior Practitioner, • Children's Residential Practitioner, • Supported Accommodation professional, • Leaving Care or young people's services professional You'll ideally have experience working with children or young people, together with a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and promoting positive outcomes. You'll also have: • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People, Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care or equivalent., • Experience supervising or supporting other members of staff., • Experience contributing to support plans, risk assessments, audits or quality assurance., • Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills., • A commitment to promoting young people's independence, safety and wellbeing., • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Experience within supported accommodation, Ofsted-regulated services, working with 16-17-year-olds or a Level 5 management qualification would be advantageous. However, strong candidates with transferable children's services experience are encouraged to apply.
