Health and Safety Manager Location: Brentwood (with ad-hoc regional travel) Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + Car or Car Allowance Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to lead and enhance Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) practices across a growing operational business. This is a key leadership position responsible for embedding a positive safety culture, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across multiple sites within the region. This role will suit a proactive and solutions-focused H&S professional who is confident working across operational teams, engaging with stakeholders, and influencing at all levels of the organisation. The Role Safety Leadership & Culture • Champion a strong, values-led safety culture across the business., • Promote awareness through toolbox talks, training sessions and ongoing engagement initiatives., • Develop, review and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)., • Ensure full compliance with relevant UK legislation and industry best practice., • Support and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems., • Identify training needs to maintain workforce competence and compliance., • Deliver and coordinate H&S training across operational and management teams., • Provide leadership and direction to the internal H&S function, including site auditors., • Oversee contractor and supply chain onboarding, ensuring adherence to required safety standards., • Conduct and oversee routine site inspections and audits., • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions., • Produce regular performance reports, highlighting trends and recommending improvements., • NEBOSH Level 3 (General Certificate) or equivalent qualification as a minimum., • Demonstrable experience in a similar senior H&S role within telecoms, utilities or construction environments., • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards., • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally., • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
