Thursdays (Twickenham) from 5:15pm to 7:15pm, 5. Thursdays (Surbiton) from 5:30pm to 7pm, 6. Fridays (Twickenham) from 4:30pm to 7pm, 7. Fridays (Hampton) from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, 8. Saturdays (Surbiton) from 8am to 1pm, 9. Saturdays (Twickenham) from 2pm to 6pm Duties: • Teach swimming lessons to individuals or groups of all ages and skill levels following a lesson plan provided by JAZ., • Provide instructions on proper swimming techniques, water safety, and rescue skills, • Assess and update participants' progress using our online portal and provide feedback for improvement, • Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment Skills: • Strong swim teaching skills with the ability to effectively communicate and educate, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with participants and their parents/guardians, • Knowledge of swimming strokes, techniques, and safety protocols and ability to make corrections on incorrect technique., • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles As a Swimming Instructor, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for swimming while helping others develop their skills in a fun and safe environment.     Location: Cobham Hours: 16–42 hours per week (rota-based, including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins) Reporting to: Registered Manager / Deputy Manager / Senior Care Practitioner About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, committed Care Practitioner to join our children’s residential home, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their full potential. This role is central to delivering high-quality, child-centred care in line with Ofsted regulations, the Children Act 1989, and Every Child Matters. Key Responsibilities As a Care Practitioner, you will: • Provide high-quality physical, emotional, social, and cultural care tailored to each child’s individual needs, • Promote independence and life skills such as communication, self-care, cooking, and daily routines, • Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a consistent, positive role model, • Support children through challenging behaviours using calm, trauma-informed approaches, • Safeguard children at all times and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment, • Monitor health, wellbeing, behaviour, and development, reporting concerns appropriately, • Assist with medication administration in line with policies and training, • Support education, leisure, and community-based activities, • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports, reviews, and care planning meetings, • Advocate for children and actively involve them in decisions about their lives and futures, • Work collaboratively with families, social workers, teachers, and other professionals Working as Part of a Team You will be expected to: • Contribute positively to team meetings, supervision, and appraisals, • Work consistently with colleagues to implement care plans, • Support team development and provide informal support to colleagues when needed, • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and the home’s Statement of Purpose, • Uphold professional standards, including whistleblowing responsibilities Personal Development We are committed to your growth and development. You will: • Receive a full induction and ongoing training, • Attend mandatory and in-house training sessions, • Be supported through supervision and appraisal processes, • Be encouraged to work towards relevant qualifications Requirements • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in childcare, health & social care, education, or similar is desirable, or a willingness to work towards a Level 3/4 Diploma, • Experience: Experience working with children or young people is beneficial, • Flexibility: Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in duties, • Safeguarding: Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one) Skills & Qualities • Caring, patient, empathetic, and resilient, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to work effectively within a team, • Understanding of child development and safeguarding, • Calm and confident in managing behaviours of concern Additional Information This role requires flexibility to meet the needs of the home, including occasional rota changes and undertaking additional duties such as light maintenance or gardening where appropriate. Any changes to circumstances affecting DBS clearance must be reported immediately. We are currently unable to support sponsorship.
