Key Responsibilities • Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service., • Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant., • Supervise shifts and ensure smooth service., • Train and develop new and existing team members., • Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues professionally., • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and health & safety., • Assist with staff scheduling and opening/closing procedures., • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure an outstanding guest experience.     Overview We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team and contribute to the upkeep of various outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in landscape maintenance and horticulture, with practical experience in gardening and groundskeeping. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction experience or mechanical knowledge to apply their skills in a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of outdoor areas, ensuring they meet high standards of presentation and functionality. Duties • Conduct routine landscape maintenance, including mowing, pruning, weeding, and planting to promote healthy growth and visual appeal, • Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers efficiently and safely, • Use hand tools for detailed gardening tasks and general groundskeeping activities, • Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and system functionality, • Assist with construction or repair projects involving excavation, fencing, or installation of new features, • Conduct equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance or organise repairs as needed, • Manage waste disposal by collecting green waste and ensuring the site remains tidy and hazard-free, • Support team efforts in maintaining safety standards across all outdoor work areas Qualifications • Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable, • Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and basic equipment repair is advantageous, • Familiarity with the operation of excavators or other construction machinery is a plus, • Ability to handle hand tools safely and effectively during various groundskeeping tasks, • Previous construction experience or practical knowledge of civil works will be considered an asset, • Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in maintaining outdoor environments, • Physical fitness to undertake manual labour including lifting, digging, and operating machinery for extended periods, • A valid driver’s licence is preferred but not essential This position offers a rewarding opportunity for those passionate about outdoor maintenance and environmental care.
