Dutton Recruitment have a current requirement for a Chef to work at a busy hospice in Bradford, BD3.\n\nWork is due to start on 01/06/2026 and last between 2-4 weeks covering a full time member of staff. 37.5 hours per week working on a split rota (however this can be worked around if required).\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nFood Preparation & Cooking\n\nPrepare and cook meals for residents.\nWork with the Head Chef to ensure menus are varied, seasonal, and meet the nutritional and dietary needs of all students, including allergies and special diets.\nSupport with the development of creative and appealing menus that promote healthy eating.Kitchen Operations\n\nEnsure effective portion control and consistency in food presentation.\nMaintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.\nMonitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage and rotation of food items.\nUse kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues promptly.Teamwork & Leadership\n\nSupervise and support junior kitchen staff and Catering Assistants, promoting a positive and efficient working environment.\nParticipate in training, briefings, and team meetings as required.Person Specification\n\nEssential\n\nProven experience as a chef in a commercial or institutional kitchen.\nNVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).\nFood Hygiene Certificate - Level 2 (minimum).\nStrong understanding of food safety, allergen regulations, and health & safety in a kitchen environment.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.\nHigh standards of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail.Desirable\n\nExperience working in a school, care setting, or similar environment.\nFirst Aid Certificate.\nExperience catering for large numbers and managing dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)
