The Role We are looking for a Cloud Platform Network Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, implement, and manage secure cloud-based network infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure scalable and reliable connectivity across hybrid environments, enabling cloud services that underpin UK Government and enterprise operations. You will work closely with architects, developers, and security teams to align network designs with business and compliance needs. In this role, you will: • Design and implement Azure networking solutions including VNets, VPN Gateways, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and WAF., • Support hub-and-spoke topologies and hybrid connectivity solutions., • Monitor and optimise performance across hybrid and multi-site environments., • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and resolve incidents quickly., • Implement observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Network Watcher., • Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Azure CLI, and PowerShell., • Contribute to CI/CD integration for infrastructure as code., • Ensure compliance with ISO27001 standards and Zero Trust principles., • Manage firewalls, access controls, and threat detection., • Maintain accurate documentation and mentor junior engineers. What We’re Looking For We would love to hear from you if you have: • Proven experience in Azure networking and cloud infrastructure., • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewall principles., • Hands-on experience with Azure networking services (VNets, App Gateway, Firewall & WAF, Network Watcher, Load Balancer)., • Scripting and automation expertise with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Terraform., • Knowledge of network security principles and Azure-native security tools., • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Current and valid SC clearance. Desirable skills: • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (or equivalent)., • Experience with Zscaler and Okta., • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines., • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or third-party monitoring tools.
