🔌 Exciting Opportunity: Project Manager – BESS VGC is thrilled to be supporting a major client, a Tier 1 EPC Contractor looking for a seasoned Project Manager with a robust electrical background in the DNO, IDNO, or ICP sectors. The Project Manager will be responsible for the construction of major Battery Energy Storage projects throughout the UK. We're seeking a professional who brings deep expertise in renewable or embedded generation, along with the necessary industry authorisations and qualifications. This role demands a solid foundation in construction project management, supported by relevant certifications. 🛠️ Key Responsibilities • Oversee the project during the design phase, ensuring readiness for handover to the construction team, • Ensure all electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards, client Engineering Requirements, and other applicable regulations, • Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects—from design handover through to commissioning and completion, • Maintain and update the Programme of Works, keeping all stakeholders informed of changes, • Produce detailed three-week, monthly, and three-month lookahead schedules, identifying risks and critical path activities, • Review and understand the Construction Phase Plan (CPP), F10 notifications (if applicable), and HSEQ documentation, • Collaborate with the Site Manager and project team to uphold site safety and security, • Support the HSEQ Manager by contributing technical input to RAMS, audits, and other documentation, • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) checks, verify pre-work readiness, and sign off completed works against specifications and designs, • Minimum HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience, • At least 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, specifically in electrical infrastructure projects, • Prior experience working within a NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) environment, • Proven track record in managing or installing electrical infrastructure up to 132 kV, • In-depth knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, substations, and related systems, • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to construction sites, • Confident in leading technical meetings with design and operations teams, including DNOs and client technical advisors On Offer • Salary up to £85,000, • Company vehicle/car allowance, • Full benefits package, • Ongoing career development opportunities
