    Sittingbourne, Kent £15–£19 per hour depending on experience 40-hour contract with overtime available | Full-time, permanent We’re looking for an engineer with a good mechanical and/or electrical background to join our growing service team based in Sittingbourne. Previous industrial door experience is not essential. We’re particularly interested in engineers from related industries who have good mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, a practical approach and the ability to understand, diagnose and repair machinery. Full training will be provided on our products, systems and working methods. About Us We are an established industrial door company specializing in high-speed doors, with a comprehensive range of industrial and commercial door systems. We pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship and service, which has enabled us to build a strong and loyal customer base. The majority of our work comes from repeat customers and direct recommendations, reflecting the long-term relationships we have developed with our clients. The Role Our engineers typically work around 50 hours per week, with optional overtime available after 40 hours, paid at time and a half. You’ll work on a wide range of industrial and commercial doors and associated equipment at customer sites across Kent and surrounding areas. The role will include: • Installation and commissioning of door systems and loading bay products, • Servicing and maintaining industrial doors, • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, • Mechanical and electrical fault-finding, • Working with motors, controls and associated equipment, • Carrying out safety checks and adjustments, • Travelling to customer sites, • Working at height where required, • Learning to diagnose and resolve a wide range of equipment faults, • Working alongside experienced engineers while developing your skills Who We're Looking For We’re looking for someone who is practical, mechanically minded and able to solve problems. Experience or interest in areas such as: • Mechanical engineering, • Electrical engineering, • Maintenance engineering, • Mechanical fitting, • Machinery or plant maintenance, • Manufacturing, • Fabrication, • Installation, • Construction, • Other engineering or service-based industries could provide a good foundation for the role. Industrial door experience is not required. We’re more interested in your engineering ability, approach to fault-finding and willingness to learn. What We Offer • £15–£19 per hour depending on experience, • Overtime paid at time and a half, • Regular overtime available, • 20 days' annual holiday plus Bank Holidays, • Full training provided (including certifications in IPAF 3a+3b, CSCS, DHF Level 2), • Full-time, permanent position, • Company equipment, uniform and PPE provided, • Varied work across Kent and surrounding areas, • Opportunity to develop your skills and progress within the company Typical Earnings Our engineers typically earn £38,000–£60,000 per year, depending on experience and overtime worked.
