Job Title: General Manager, One Stop Films, London One Stop Films is an established supplier of camera, lenses and grip equipment, based at 3 Mills Studios in East London. The company supports film, television and commercial productions, working with major broadcasters and content producers including Netflix, Apple TV and other leading platforms, as well as a broad range of UK and international production companies. With a wide inventory and experienced technical support, One Stop Films works closely with cinematographers and creative teams and is known for a practical, reliable approach and technical expertise. Responsibilities • Be the driving force behind a cohesive, motivated team — from Camera Floor and Hire Desk to Accounts and HR — building on strong foundations and encouraging collaboration between departments., • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth workflows and ensuring clear, timely and effective communication, across Hire Desk and Camera Floor, covering inventory, logistics, staffing and scheduling., • Maintain oversight of inventory and equipment planning; use your organisational skills and forward planning to identify potential shortfalls, reduce external hire (X-hire) costs and streamline logistical planning., • Oversee all people-related functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and staff development, ensuring a positive, inclusive and supportive work environment., • Work closely with the Senior Team and HR support to manage staffing levels, succession planning and training initiatives that align with company needs and culture., • Promote employee engagement and wellbeing, addressing HR issues with fairness, professionalism and compliance with employment law and company policies., • Maintain the highest standards of health and safety across all areas of the business, ensuring spaces, equipment and working environments are safe, efficient and compliant., • Run regular all-staff and departmental meetings to encourage open dialogue, alignment and collaboration., • Oversee the use of our asset management system to ensure jobs are prepped efficiently, considering staffing, logistics, and resource availability., • Work with the Camera Floor Manager/Senior Techs to develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols, including checklists, testing, and check-in/out procedures., • Optimise resource management — maximising equipment utilisation and overseeing processes for missing/damaged reporting, overdue returns, and maintenance tracking., • Manage vehicle and staff logistics, ensuring the most efficient and sustainable delivery and collection routes, combining multiple runs where possible to enhance customer service and reduce environmental impact., • Work with Accounts to ensure jobs are invoiced in a timely manner and customer payments terms are adhered to., • Collaborate closely with the Company Directors to shape strategy, set goals and drive overall performance., • Keep communication open, transparent and consistent across all departments, supporting a culture built on trust and teamwork. Skills & Experience • Proven experience managing teams across multiple departments — ideally within equipment hire, film/TV production, logistics, or a similar hands-on industry., • Naturally approachable and confident — a leader who brings out the best in others through clarity, empathy and example., • Skilled in delegation, communication, and conflict resolution, with a clear understanding of how operational decisions impact profitability., • Excellent communication skills — verbal and written — with the ability to engage confidently with people at all levels., • A natural collaborator who values teamwork and enjoys fostering a positive, solutions-driven environment., • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and an instinct for finding better, more efficient ways of working., • Dynamic team player — self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work independently to meet company and client goals., • Calm under pressure, capable of balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Proactive problem-solver — you don’t just identify issues, you resolve them., • Flexible and adaptable — willing to roll up your sleeves when needed, including occasional evening or weekend work as projects demand., • Comfortable using asset management systems (Current RMS experience is a strong advantage). Working hours Shift patterns between 08:00–18:00, Monday–Friday; occasional extended hours during busy periods.
