Butcher (Wholesale) Location:Fareham, Hampshire Job Type:Full-time, Permanent Hours:Monday to Friday, 6:00 am 2:00 pm Salary:£32,500 per annum About Our Client Our client is a specialist wholesale butcher known for producing high-quality, ethically sourced meat. From pasture-raised beef to slow-grown poultry, every product is selected for its flavour and quality, reflecting a commitment to traditional farming and high welfare standards. They supply Michelin-starred restaurants, premium pubs, and independent butchers across London and the UK. Role Overview Our client is looking for a skilled, experienced butcher who takes pride in their craft. This is a hands-on, production-focused role working with full carcasses, breaking them down to precise specifications in a fast-paced environment. Youll be part of a small, highly capable team, with around 95% of your time spent on practical butchery. This role is not suitable for candidates with retail-only or counter-service experience. What Youll Be Doing • Breaking down full carcasses (beef, pork, lamb) with precision and consistency, • Preparing and portioning high-quality cuts, including aged beef and seasonal poultry, • Applying traditional butchery techniques to maximise yield and quality, • Maintaining strict food safety, storage, and cold-chain standards, • Working nose-to-tail to ensure full utilisation of each carcass, • Producing cuts to exact customer specifications, • Collaborating with the production team to meet daily targets, • Keeping your workspace clean, organised, and compliant Essential • Proven experience as a butcher in a production or wholesale environment, • Strong whole-carcass butchery skills (essential), • Not suitable for retail-only or catering-only backgrounds, • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail, • A team player who can also work independently, • Reliable, hardworking, and takes pride in their work, • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, • Site closed on bank holidays, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, • Employer pension contribution, • On-site parking, • MondayFriday schedule no weekend work, • Craftsmanship & Integrity: Join a team that champions old-fashioned butchery skills, with a mission to revive Britains forgotten flavours, • Ethically Sourced Products: Work with livestock raised on pasture and slow-grown to full maturity, producing the best-tasting meat in Britain Your data will be handled in line with GDPR JBRP1_UKTJ
