Production Manager - Engineering Workshop Manager - Coventry - Super role and SME business Day-to-day running of the shop floor - Managing and assisting a team of Operators/machinists Full time permanent role - Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 Friday 07:30 – 12:30 Base salary plus benefits, up to £60,000 (FT perm role with growth) - We want to right person. We need a hands-on Production Manager to take charge of a busy, high-performing machine shop in a respected engineering business. If you’re a skilled machinist with a knack for motivating teams, solving problems, and keeping production running like clockwork, this is the role for you! You will be be the go-to person on the shop floor, leading a team of CNC millers, planning workloads, and ensuring top-notch quality and output. You’ll still be on the tools when needed, so this is perfect for someone who loves the buzz of the workshop and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Role: • Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations and workflow planning, • Lead a team of machinists , providing guidance and direction, • Operate manual machinery (lathe and/or milling machine) to a high standard, • Accurately interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, • Use measuring equipment confidently and precisely to ensure quality control, • Make real-time decisions to address shop floor challenges, • Liaise with management and support departments to meet production goals, • Proven experience in a similar machine shop or production leadership role, • Strong reading and interpretation skills for all levels of technical and engineering drawings, • Confident use of micrometres, verniers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools, • Strong leadership, team coordination, and communication skills, • Good decision-maker, proactive and solutions-focused, • Willingness to work fluctuating weekends and support additional shift needs Bonus Skills: • Ability to drive, • Experience with CNC machines (setting or programming)
