Job Description Job Summary The Executive Manager is responsible for overseeing operational performance through strategic leadership, management, mentorship, and coaching of a team of construction management professionals. This role drives organizational growth and develops personnel to achieve planned expansion and profitability goals, while ensuring a consistently high standard of client experience. Support and enhance training programs to build team capabilities and drive continuous improvement. Identify and develop future leaders through succession planning and targeted leadership development initiatives., • Provide executive leadership and strategic support to the team by modeling core values, fostering team cohesion, and aligning internal teams and clients around shared objectives. Oversee project and personnel performance and accountability by supporting teams in issue resolution, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting., • Manage resource planning and staffing to ensure successful project execution and consistent operational performance across the group. Facilitate communication and consistency through regular engagement with leadership and project teams, proactively addressing challenges and resolving internal and external conflicts., • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and implementing construction technologies and staying informed on industry innovations and best practices. Lead change initiatives by demonstrating commitment to improvement in organizational performance; communicate a compelling vision within the department that generates commitment to the process. Implement and continuously improve company standards, processes, and procedures to ensure operational consistency and efficiency., • Evaluate incoming Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and project opportunities by thoroughly reviewing requirements, assessing alignment with organizational capabilities, resources, and strategic objectives, and leading informed go/no-go decision-making that enhances competitive positioning and supports long-term market growth., • Support the preconstruction process across all phases of design by collaborating with internal teams, providing strategic oversight, and conducting final reviews of project estimates to ensure comprehensive scope coverage, appropriate general conditions, and alignment of overhead and profit (O&P) with project requirements and organizational/group profitability objectives., • Establish and execute group goals aligned with company-wide initiatives, including financial performance, operations, culture, and standard practices, in collaboration with senior leadership., • Oversee the overall management and performance of the group, including profit and loss responsibility, budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring the strength of the group’s financial structure., • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and supports the development of a unified “One Company” culture across all levels of the organization., • Safeguard revenue and profitability by effectively managing project pursuits and active work throughout the full project lifecycle, while tracking key performance indicators related to delivery, client satisfaction, safety, and financial results., • Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a key representative of the company, ensuring a high standard of engagement and service., • Lead and actively participate in business development and proposal efforts to support company growth. Build and expand a robust network of industry relationships in collaboration with business development teams, as applicable. Represent and promote the company within the community through involvement in events, conferences, and trade associations., • Develop and implement strategic business plans aligned with overall company objectives to support sustainable growth. Collaborate with business development and preconstruction teams to drive market strategies, pursue opportunities, and optimize bids, budgets, and profit approaches, as applicable. Lead proposal efforts, including RFP/RFQ responses, to ensure strong positioning and alignment with growth objectives. Analyze and anticipate industry trends and market conditions, including subcontractor dynamics, to inform strategic decision-making., • In conjunction with HR, Safety, and senior leadership, ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, safety standards, and company policies across projects. Oversee and implement risk management strategies to minimize liability and financial exposure. Collaborate with safety, human resources and accounting teams to uphold contractual and regulatory obligations. Support project teams in the review and execution of subcontract and prime contract agreements, ensuring clear understanding of contractual requirements., • Serve as an ambassador of Bryan Construction; participate with local, industry, and non-profit organizations that align with the company’s vision to improve relationships within our industry and communities. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use manual dexterity. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, speak, hear, use eye/hand coordination, and reach with arms and hands. The employee must frequently be able to work in a construction job site environment, including but not limited to working outside, excessive heat/cold, fumes/smoke/gases, walking on uneven surfaces, noise/vibrations, and working around moving equipment/machinery. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Required Education and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or similar field, or equivalent work experience, • Extensive construction management experience with an emphasis on group management, project management, preconstruction, and operations, • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams, • Experience using construction management software, • Experience leading a team of direct reports, • Experience managing multiple, complex projects/teams simultaneously, • Experience working with different contract types (lump sum, GMP, etc.), • Ten or more years of construction management experience with an emphasis on project management, preconstruction, and operations Preferred Education and Experience • Valid driver’s license, • Experience working with Bryan Construction’s core markets, • Experience working with jurisdictions where Bryan Construction does business, • Experience establishing and achieving group profit goals, • Experience managing the overall function of a group/office, • Experience implementing policies and procedures, • Diverse experience in Owner Contract types to include stipulated sum, cost plus, CMGC, and Design Build, • Experience working various project types, such as: federal, multi-family, commercial, renovations, tenant improvements, and ground-up projects of differing types.
