ABC North Florida is a nonprofit trade association supporting the commercial construction industry across the Florida Panhandle. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to join our small team in a part-time role with responsibilities in bookkeeping and event administration (est. 25–30 hours/week). This position is ideal for a self-motivated, accountable professional who is comfortable managing defined responsibilities while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our office is in NE Tallahassee, FL, near the intersection of I-10 and Thomasville Road. Areas of Responsibility Financial Administration • Maintains accurate accounting records in QuickBooks (with payment processing via Square, Stripe, PayPal, etc.), • Manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, payment processing, and financial records, • Coordinates logistics for chapter gatherings, meals, meetings, trainings, and special events, • Manages event registrations and payments/refunds (e.g., tournaments for golf, clay shooting, fishing), • Communicates effectively with venues, vendors, sponsors, members, and colleagues, • Provides on-site support at select events — limited travel within North Florida may be necessary, • Proactively anticipates the needs of members and guests, delivering exceptional service, • Remains calm, adaptable, and solution-oriented when circumstances change in real time What We’re Looking For • A reliable and trustworthy professional who consistently follows through and exercises sound judgment, • A tactful team player with strong communication skills who utilizes discretion with sensitive information, • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to perform accurate calculations related to business finances, • Bookkeeping experience with accounting software; proficiency in QuickBooks strongly preferred, • An independent worker who clearly communicates and collaborates effectively in a small team environment, • Experience in event planning or bookkeeping preferred; familiarity with the construction industry a plus, • Open-minded and comfortable engaging professionally with diverse viewpoints and industry perspectives, • Flexible and able to adapt quickly when plans change or unexpected challenges arise Why Join ABC North Florida? • ABC Members build our communities – the places where we learn, shop, play, worship, work, and heal, • We strive to provide a positive and supportive work culture, • Compensation is commensurate with experience, competitive within the nonprofit association sector, and balanced with scheduling flexibility and impact from meaningful work (est. 25–30 hours/week), • ABC N FL is an Equal Opportunity Employer; we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law Requirements • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to drive to/from events across the Florida Panhandle, • Ability to transport event supplies and equipment, lift and carry up to 30–50 lbs., and climb stairs as needed during event setup and breakdown, • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position, • Ability to represent the association’s interests with professionalism and discretion, even when perspectives vary, • Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check To Apply Serious candidates only, please.
