Job DescriptionSalary: Job Title: Dialysis - Registered Nurse Job Type:Job Type: Full time. Must be able to work 4 (Four) days a week, scheduled for 12 (Twelve) Hr. shift, with flexibility to work more days or hours as needed. Location: Acute care hospitals and sub-acute facilities that have contract with ADC Company. Department/Category: Clinical Services Position Supervised by/Reports to: V/P Clinical Services, Clinical Coordinator POSSITION SUMMARY: This individual provides professional nursing care to patients needing nephrology care dialysis services in the acute hospitals and sub-acute facilities that have contracted with the Company for Hemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis. DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Attends hospital and Company orientation, and mandatory meetings, in - services, and continuing education if available., 2. The RN must be cognizant that at all times the contracted facility/hospital and patients physician retain ultimate authority over and responsibility for each patients care and treatment., 3. Interacts and communicates with hospital partners in a collaborative, respectful manner, gives pre/post treatment report through appropriate reporting process to hospital primary RN/Staff, 4. Provides initiation and discontinuation of the prescribed renal replacement therapy, including but not limited to formulating a plan per physician orders, verifying safety measures are in place and complied with, administering medications or other appropriate treatments related to dialysis, and documenting all activity appropriately on the hospital and or Companys approved forms and documentation tool., 5. Plans and provides patient care for the adult and geriatric patients in the hospital in accordance with the physician orders, hospitals policy and procedures as well as the Companys policy and procedures., 6. Provides quality direct patient care and renal replacement therapies independently, in a professional, considerate and respectful manner., 7. Documents, evaluates and implements dialysis orders., 8. Documents patients physical assessment, vital signs, treatment reviews and observation in patient medical records and brings issues to the attention of physician and primary nurse, 9. Analyzes patient assessment, dialysis orders, laboratory results and, discusses issues with the nephrologist, 10. Communicates emergencies, patient life-threatening complications and related incidents to supervisor, hospital staff, and patients physician., 11. Demonstrates the ability to learn and perform modalities (hemodialysis, PD.CRRT, Apheresis), 12. Supervises and directs patient care of other teammates in treatment area that may or may not be licensed., 13. Demonstrates the ability to transfer skill set and work on other Hospital settings when required. In other words, flexible. Physical Requirement: nurse often have to push/pull large hemodialysis machines around the hospital unassisted.
