Job Description Job Title: Upfitter / Assembler Job Description The Production Technician I plays a vital role in the manufacture, assembly, installation, and configuration of transportation vans and shuttles. This position is key in delivering high-quality, customized transportation solutions that meet diverse customer needs while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities • Work on the assembly line, constructing various components of transportation vans and shuttles according to design specifications and safety standards., • Install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, fitting body panels, interiors, and aftermarket equipment., • Accurately install features such as seating arrangements, safety equipment, and climate control units., • Integrate electrical systems including lighting, wiring, switches, and controls., • Ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety and customer specifications., • Align van and shuttle bodies with the chassis, ensuring proper fitment and structural integrity., • Secure van and shuttle bodies to the chassis using appropriate fasteners and mounting hardware., • Customize vehicles for various purposes such as wheelchair accessibility or luxury amenities., • Perform inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met., • Identify and implement solutions for production issues or customer complaints., • Keep accurate records of work, modifications, and inspections., • Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean work area., • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion., • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Minimum of one year of technical training, shop, or manufacturing experience., • Basic understanding of automotive concepts and theories., • Experience with air tools and machinery related to vehicle production., • Ability to read blueprints and use a measuring tape., • Effective written and verbal communication skills., • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Work Environment The position is based in a manufacturing plant environment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes. The role involves physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working with arms above the head. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
