Are you passionate about high-speed food processing and eager to make impactful improvements? Join our Grand Rapids Bakery team as an Industrial Electrician on 2nd shift (2:45 PM – 10:45 PM). This is an on-site role with occasional weekend support required. Note: Training will begin on first shift for the initial two weeks, followed by additional training on second shift. Full integration into the regular schedule is expected within 45–60 days. The starting hourly pay rate for this position is $42.92, and we’re offering a $10,000 retention bonus along with up to 3 weeks of vacation upon hire. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that includes Operations, Food Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety professionals, all working together to keep our production machinery running smoothly. This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment and the opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing • Maintaining Equipment & Amplifying PLC Knowledge – Alternate between troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and on-the-spot machine repair, focusing on programmable logic controllers., • Analyzing Conditions & Providing Solutions – Identify and examine equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and repair electrical and mechanical systems using PLC programming., • Prioritizing Innovation & Communication – Seek ways to improve plant efficiency, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain open communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and Mechanics. We’re Looking for Someone With • High School diploma or GED, • State/Local Electrical License OR Journey Card (or will have either at time of hire), • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based safety systems, • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Job Description This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance for all manufacturing operations. In addition, it provides assistance or takes on sole responsibility of machine troubleshooting and repairing problems. This position is to repair, service, and maintain the plant and plant equipment. It also ensures food safety, HACCP, SQF, and GMP program compliance. • 2nd shift position available with steady shift schedules, • Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm, alternating Saturday shifts, • weekend overtime based on production schedule, • competitive benefit package including medical/dental/vision/company provided life insurance/short term disability insurance, • paid days off available after 120 days, • 401k with company match after 60 days PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Respond to breakdowns and failures on the plant floor., • Troubleshoot and correct equipment., • Perform electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks., • Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment in a thorough and safe manner., • Exhibit good communication skills., • Work in team environment or independently., • Train production employees as well as other mechanics and be willing to be trained by other mechanics., • Follow all plant and corporate safety and food safety policies and procedures. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work weekends or overtime with short notice on a daily basis if needed., • Assist other departments as needed., • Participate in plant audit and inspection preparation., • Other duties and projects as assigned.
