Job Description Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer position. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Academic Affairs is responsible for the vision, leadership, and strategic direction of the University's academic pursuits. This includes oversight of all academic programs, policies, and personnel; alignment of academic priorities with the University's mission, Lutheran identity, and strategic plan; and the stewardship of academic and fiscal resources through collaboration with faculty, staff, and senior leadership. Responsibilities/Duties: • Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS)., • Supervise the university registrar, director of the library, assistant vice president for academic affairs, deans of the colleges, and the executive assistant; oversee management of all academic colleges, offices, centers, personnel, budgets, and other academic resources., • Oversee all academic programs, policies, and resources across undergraduate and graduate levels; lead faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation., • Maintain institutional and programmatic accreditation; ensure compliance with academic standards, federal/state regulations, and internal policies., • Serve on the President's Executive Cabinet, contributing to strategic decisions and institutional leadership; advance institutional priorities, including enrollment growth, student retention, program innovation, faculty excellence, the University's Lutheran identity, Christian mission, and financial strength., • Exhibit effective, professional, accurate, and timely communication with all stakeholders, • Have demonstrated leadership in academic program development, accreditation, and cross-functional collaboration, • Have a demonstrated understanding of, and facility in handling, the complexity of developing and integrating a wide range of academic programs at a university, • Demonstrate strong administrative and project management skills, including strategic thinking and attention to detail, • Experience with and appreciation of the centrality of academic affairs in the university budget planning process, • Strong record of success at progressively senior levels in higher education, with specific experience in managing within a highly complex institution, • Experience in curriculum planning and the development of a wide range of academic programs, • Experience with, and a commitment to, shared academic governance, • Active membership in an LCMS congregation and strong commitment to the Biblical faith Education Requirements: • Doctoral degree is required. Starting range and faculty rank is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
