At STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST), we support medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer, and industrial partners through contract sterilization delivered by more than 50 facilities worldwide. What your day looks like You’ll orchestrate the flow of customer product from arrival to release. One moment you’re moving items from unprocessed storage to the processing area; the next, you’re loading and unloading after treatment, staging pre-shipment orders, and double-checking special customer instructions. You’ll keep equipment for product movement humming, perform minor fixes, and call in Maintenance or leadership for anything major. Documentation accuracy is your north star as you place, retrieve, and analyze product monitoring devices to verify processing specifications. When alarms sound, you investigate quickly and within safety guidelines—escalating to a Supervisor, Team Leader, or Operator as needed—and you help resolve issues. Housekeeping is part of your routine, and you’ll cross-train through our Operator curriculum to broaden your skills. As part of One Team with One Goal, you’ll uphold STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles, and support leadership directives. In certain modalities (for example, Gamma), expect a highly physical environment that calls for strength and endurance. Key responsibilities • Transfer product between unprocessed storage and processing; load/unload processed product; stage orders for shipment., • Review process paperwork and customer-provided special instructions to ensure correct handling., • Monitor product transfer equipment, perform minor repairs, and maintain a clean, orderly workspace., • Receive, identify, label (as applicable), and store product within Shipping & Receiving per procedure and customer direction., • Maintain complete and accurate product records; implement corrective actions when needed., • Place, retrieve, and analyze monitoring devices per processing specifications., • Research and respond to alarm conditions; report out-of-parameter events; assist in issue resolution within safety guidelines., • Participate in Operator training; may perform duties of Material Handler I, Warehouse Material Handler, Warehouse Assistant, and/or Operator as training is initiated/completed., • High School Diploma or GED., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform seated or standing work using hands throughout the shift., • 1+ year of warehouse experience in FDA-, ISO-, or GMP-regulated environments., • Effective English reading, writing, and verbal communication. Preferred, • Basic computer and math proficiency; ability to navigate defined computer screens., • Forklift experience., • Familiarity with similar shift structures and work hours.
